Purpose of 'Good Guys'
Help each other learn new and effective ways to witness to others, including sharing stories of salvation, and any tips or clues that we have used toward that goal in our past that have been effective
Help spread the news of any new and wonderful web sites, mail lists, etc. that can be used to help spread Gods word, or even just research the Word, or evidence of it's truth.
Moral support; face it, in this world filled with a strong majority of people who are not true believers, having a place to go where there is an actual majority, will be a godsend.
Heck, might even meet some new friends, people. What better friend can there be than somebody who had a heart for Jesus?
Who the heck is this guy?
A valid question, no doubt. I actually have a few things online on the web that will help answer that question. It took a leap-of-faith to get this far, and It makes my heart Jump for Joy when I see all the great people who have taken that leap. I want to give you confidence in your choice, and I have written a comprehensive profile to describe who I am, for a service online called "Christian Connection"; free service to try it, web-based email for $17/month if you keep it.
Since many of course won't have access to that service, I put my profile on the good-guys website.
I wrote a testimony to my faith, and I've had a very rough version online on a friend's website, but you guys have motivated me to clean it up a bit, and I just put in online here: MY TESTIMONY
(It's wordy; remember my initial comments that if I have a long-winded thing, I won't send it to your email box, rather let you get it on your own time; this is one of those cases). A disclaimer; do not take offense if you are Catholic; got nothing 'ganst them; my DAD is Catholic, just I'm not, and I have my reasons. Please read my testimony, since the true me shows through better than most people's initial impression of me (which is a bit high 'n' mighty; sorry 'bout that).
I have an online photo album (of some of my photography, I think there are a couple pictures of me juggling my torches, and perhaps my pet ferret).
Topic ideas
I will be looking forward to input from the gang about topics to cover. I will start with a couple suggestions based on my favorite topics of discussion, which follow:
Scientific evidence of a literal creation. (don't worry if you're not a "young-earth" believer, I don't step on toes. I have a very open mind
Biblical prophecy, especially pertaining to end-time events
Evidence of the Bible being of divine authorship; ever heard of Ivan Panin? His life-work was a study of the Bible, and evidence within that he showed to the Nobel Committee with his 43,000 pages of notes, and a note explaining that "this is [his] evidence that the Bible was authored by GOD. (Their response to him was priceless: "we have found the evidence overwhelmingly in favor of such a statement"); is that cool or WHAT?
