There were nine wars. In some wars people were forced to go
to war. Someone shot their foot on purpose. In the Spain War
there were people who blew up an American ship. 10,000 prisoners
were killed in the war. Some people didn’t fight with
guns in the war. Women also served in the war – not just
men. When they came back they came in big ships. Some people
signed up for the war but never battled. A lot of people were
killed from disease.
Zack Jones
War is painful and hard. We fight for freedom and if we lose
there is no freedom. Now we are free and healthy but not all
of us. In a war people die of pain and hunger. People that go
to war don’t get that much food and die of diseases. They
may have no food for the war and die of hunger.
Taqurri Sanderson
War is very scary and dangerous. And it’s outrageous.
Some died. Some lived. There was a gun pointing at humans to
kill them. But they have to do this to protect us. There was
this man who just went in the war to be a hero. They tried to
protect their town and their family. The reason that men went
into war is because women wanted them to and to protect everybody.
Some wars just happened and nobody really knows but when they
hear a gun shot they go out. Some people’s heads just
got blown off their shoulders. And in some tribes they sing
songs for some people who died. 5,000 of army men died and felled
their lives.
Kieran Cook
I couldn’t believe that some people liked the war!! Some
people were even excited about the war! Couldn’t they
see how awful being at war was? But they were protecting our
country, and that is the good thing. They had a lot of good
reasons to go to war also, like freedom.
Billy Bean
The red jackets were coming and people had to defend their house.
It took a long time to get the news in war. There was a lady
in a painting kissing a sword to honor the man. when men left
for the war women had to do men’s work. Someone ate a
dog because he was so hungry. Someone’s friend got his
head blown off.
Taylor McMillin
They go to war so that they could save and protect people. One
reason people went to war is because women wanted them to. The
people that had signed up for war can not quit. They have to
stay there. One guy went there, then left. He did something
he wasn’t supposed to do. When somebody got hurt they
would have to go to a hospital tent. One guy just wanted to
go to war and nobody asked him to. I wonder why they had tents
for hospitals.
Bonnie Cooke
This guy shot his foot on purpose. He got to go home. His buddy
didn’t. This woman was kissing a sword. Women also do
men’s work like welding when they’re at war. 5,000
men went to Washington and gave their medals back. They didn’t
care anymore. George Washington fought in the war because the
people wanted him to be their captain.
Dwayne Cooper
I just saw a woman kissing a sword. Sometimes women wanted men
to go to war. 5,000 men gave their medals to George Washington.
In 1775 there was no news passed out. You had to ride a horse
to the newspaper store. People did wars to free people and to
protect their country and protect the people also. Going to
war is not fun because you can die. George Washington fought
for his country. George Washington did not give the people money
who fought.
Cody Briggs
Soldiers went to war and did not know what they were doing.
Some soldiers when they got there they ran away. Some did not.
They turned their medals in. It did not mean anything to them
anymore. Some people when they got to their country they did
not want them there anymore. My great great grandpa and my great
grandpa and my cousin, all three of them went. They did not
like it. My great great grandpa was dead. His leg got blown
clean off. My great grandpa told me they won in World War Two.
The blue coats won a World War Three to America. They have their
own tent area. Their friends did not make it.
Tee’Ara Smith
Having faith is one thing that is important because everybody
should believe in themselves and trust. You should have trust.
That is another thing you should have. Why? Because it is right
and giving up is not what you should be doing. Because war is
important and you would let your country down if you gave up.
You shall always believe in yourself and have faith.
Zachary Barnhart
A guy shot his foot. And some people got their heads blown off.
Some people fought in planes. A girl kissed a man’s sword.
Red coats are strong men. Most of our men died during war. Men
fought really hard for USA. Women cheered us on until it was
over. A lot of stuff blew up.
Rachele Allen
People had to go to war because of the children and the women.
People lost their homes and houses. In the war some or maybe
more people ran away because they did not want to fight in the
war. People went to war to get freedom for their country and
other stuff. A lot of people died in the wars. People were sad
when people died.
James Sanders
George Washington was mean to the soldiers. And some of them
were dead or alive. And some of the soldiers were not going
to the war. And when his friend’s head got blown off he
was happy. And at the beginning he wanted to go in the army.
and he got his house blown up. And when he is in a hospital
that is his favorite time in the war. And George Washington
fought for his country. But he died a long time ago.
Jesse Rovai
I remember the burning ground and the horses, the gun sounds.
I remember the dead people and the person telling them to defend
their houses. I remember the woman kissing the sword. I remember
the person getting his head blown clean off. I remember the
ship sounds.
Tatiana Siaz
War is hurtful and painful. Ten thousand people died for their
people. They fight for freedom and it was never the same when
the soldiers came home. It seemed like the people wanted them
to disappear. Diseases from the bullet.
Jacob Downing
War is about killing and victory. When we’re on a ship,
you are in trouble. Because if you get shot at with a torpedo
your ship is going to blow up and your ship will sink. When
we’re on ground you might get shot at.
Billy Earls
In war you can very easily die. War is very dangerous. There
are guns and swords and knives in war. I know somebody who served
in the war and risked his life. There are lots of explosions.
George Washington served in the war. He died.
Samantha Clemens
We had a war because the women wanted to. We have war in airplanes
too. Girls do a lot of stuff that helps like hospital work and
some go in wars. We protect our nation. It said some people
were so hungry that they will eat their pets. We all do not
like blood at all because it will hurt and some people will
die.
Jeremy Burt
I remember all the people getting killed and the lady kissing
the sword. And I remember all the sounds of guns shooting and
firing. And I remember all the dead people and the women who
went to war.
Derek Hanson
War is a very bloody thing. People die. People’s families
will never know what happened. People sometimes can’t
handle it and get sad. I think it is wrong to go to war just
for a girl.
Jesse Komara
Going to war is not fun. Some people like to go to war. In wars
there are explosions. Men die from it. George Washington was
a brave man. He fought for his Country. Being a Captain is a
big responsibility. You have to boss people around.
Kyle Surwillo
The girl on the “War” slide show she was kissing
the sword. On the war part there were gun shots and people injured.
Leg off. Some were even dead and there were some sick because
of diseases.
Cody Chapman
How they fed prisoners to all of the sharks. That they were
all hung on a rope to die and how they had to eat a man’s
dog’s meat. And that five thousand of them gave their
medals back. People got their heads blown off and their blood
all over.
Sam Sprague
People getting their heads blown off. Ships blowing up and old
guns shooting people. People ran off and got caught. And when
the war is over they would get hung.
