Classroom Page June 16, 2008

Welcome to Room 10's Home Page.

HAVE A FUN FILLED, RESTFUL, EXCITING SUMMER VACATION!

The information on this page will hopefully give you some idea of what your child is doing each week in the areas of language arts, math, and science.

We will be reading stories from Unit 1 in our brand new Open Court Reading series.
This week our reading selection is "Go to the Public Library" and check out books all summer!

Everyday Math - We will be beginning our Everyday Math books next fall, but in the meantime see how math is all around us.

Our Science Kit for this summer is the world. Go out and explore the real world around you, not just the virtual world on a monitor.

Lewis and Clark Museum

Our class has been studying Lewis and Clark and the Corps of Discovery. Our room is set up as a museum that shows the major events in their journey across the west.

Your child should be bringing home a Spelling List at the beginning of each week. The test on these words will come at the end of each week. This list is also on the Homework page of this site.

I also send math homework, usually each day, Monday through Thursday. These assignments are due the next school day.

We began "Home Reading Records" and we hope you and your child can read together at least 20 minutes, five days a week, or more. Please record the amount, sign, and return the records each week.
