The Girl With Colitis Goes By...

lyric in a song and the words simply stay in your head that way.
How
about that raw song by punk group The Clash, "Rock the Casbah," misheard by some
sad individual as "Rock the Catbox"? And The Eurythmics' "Sweet dreams are made
of cheese"? Or that memorable line in the Beatles' "Lucy in the Sky with
Diamonds," when "The girl with colitis goes by"?
They're all mondegreens: misheard song lyrics that stay in your head, and they're getting greater attention on the internet according to this story.
I sympathize with these people. I'm hard of hearing and for years thought that the lyrics to the Go Go's 80's hit "We Got The Beat" were the even-less-catchy "We've Got Big Feet."
