Breaking the Sounds of Silence

One of folk rock's most persistent duos plans to reunite for a "final" tour—at least until the next one.

They haven't toured together in 20 years, but they can still harmonize like angels so it's welcome news that Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel plan to reunite for what may be their farewell tour. Their "Old Friends" concert series starts October 18 and will cover 30 cities before ending in mid-December.

As a duo Simon & Garfunkel have sold more than 40 million albums in the U.S. alone, have received five Grammy Awards, including the 2003 Lifetime Achievement award, and have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
