Iran, Enjoying a World of Fools

Just imagine the international furore if an Israeli ship had been intercepted smuggling weapons. Spokesmen/women from the USA, UK, EU and the Arab world would fall over themselves aggressively condemning what they would certainly proclaim to be ‘an act of war.’

So why the silence over the recent Israel Navy capture of a ship carrying rockets, missiles and anti-tank weapons apparently on the way to the Hezbollah arsenal?

The ship was detained November 3 on its way from Iran to Syria. (There’s that ugly four letter word again – Iran, also known in international circles as ‘The Untouchables!”)

500 tonnes of weapons were found hidden in 36 containers.

My sources in Israel say, “The ship’s manifest falsely described the containers as holding 24,224 sacks of polyethylene. In reality, the many inscriptions on the containers, the ship’s manifest and other documents, and the polyethylene sacks in the containers used to camouflage the weapons clearly show that the weapons came from Iran. They indicate that the Iranians, possibly overconfident, did not bother to conceal the weapons’ point of origin.”

Some of the weapons were high-quality, chiefly 60mm, 81mm and 120mm mortar shells produced between 2007 and 2009. The large quantity of rockets (about 2,800) equaled about 70% of those fired during the second Lebanon war (July 2006), when Hezbollah fired approximately 4,000 rockets of various types into Israeli territory,1 most of them 122mm rockets similar to those found on board the ship.

Our courageous political leaders remained silent. No one condemned Iran even though this Israeli capture was the second incident of its type in not much more than a week.

To add to the potential reason for the shipment, Israel leaders this week observed Hesbollah seems to be preparing for war.

On October 26 Yemen announced it seized the Iranian ship, Mahan 1 which was carrying mostly anit-tank weaponry. The shipment was for the Houthi Shi’ite rebels who fight against the Yemini army in the north of the country.

The Mahan 1 set sail from the Iranian port of Bandar Abbas.

So why the silence? Are all our world leaders fools? Will it take a devastating terror attack to get some action?

Mind you, all we need is for Israel to take action to get a choir of protesters all singing protests from the same hymn book.

Right now Iran seems to be invisible. It’s just their weapons and tools of destruction that give them away.

While world leaders sit on their hands, others are on their knees in prayer. It’s that privilege of intercession that will win out in the long run but it certainly would be nice to see at least one or two politicians earning their keep.

The Madness of a Moslem Medic

Former Islamic terrorist Walid Schoebert is furious after the fatal shooting of U.S. marines on the Fort Hood army base.

The killer Maj. Malik Nadal Hassan is a Jordanian Moslem.

In a press release Shoebert said: “America needs to awaken from its sleep and its unwillingness to face the issue of fundamentalist Islam in our midst which undoubtedly is the cause of the tragedy in Ft Hood. Some very serious decisions need to be made when it comes to having Muslims protecting our country, as it is impossible to know whether they are maybe honorable or foxes in the hen house.”

On a recent speaking tour of the USA, I warned of militant Islamic sleeper cells located throughout America. Today’s terror tactics include attacks on army bases where US troops are training for action overseas. This was the case at Ft Hood.

Early reports say Hassan did not believe in the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. A military doctor, Hassan feared overseas deployment.

Walid Shoebert observed in his press release: “Muslims by Sharia Law are mandated never to fight Muslims. Muslim soldiers need to be questioned whether this is an issue, yet we virtually never question them.”

Al Qaeda Arabian Peninsular leader Abu Basir Nasser al-Wahayshi this week (2 Nov) encouraged militants to use household materials to attack the infidels.

He advocated knives and sticks as useful weapons. “You do not need to exert great effort or spend a long time searching for materials as they already exist in your mother’s kitchen,” al-Wahayshi advised.

In keeping with such simplicity, weapons on an army base would be ideal. In the Ft Hood attack 11 were killed and 31 injured.
It is to be hoped the U.S. starts to recognize militant Islam is at the heart of the violence right around the world. Ignoring its presence on US turf will not make it go away.

Palestinian ‘Historian’ Plants Weeds

According to Palestinian ‘historian’ Nabal Alqam the Jews have no legitimate claim to the Land of Israel. In a Palestinian Authority (PA) television interview Alqam wiped Israel off the historical map and replaced the last 4-5000 with his own fictitious Palestinian history.

Bear in mind, it is the PA led by chairman Mahmoud Abbas that the USA believes is the ideal partner for peace for Israel in the Middle East.

Despite the continuous archaeological discoveries, including coins with Hebrew writing and stamps (bullas) with the names of biblical characters, spokesmen like Nabal Alqam continue to sprout their obscene propaganda. The sad truth is, so many believe it and angrily deny Israel’s legitimacy.

Itamar Marcus, Palestine Media Watch (www.pmw.org) covered the interview. In a blatantly preposterous statement Alqam said, Israel is stealing Palestinian heritage and creating fake symbols and identity.

Anyone with insight will recognize these claims are actually designed to denounce the Bible as part of the evil Israeli scheme. By removing the Bible this strategy leaves the Koran as the only reliable truth.

Someone Should Say, “This is Rubbish!”

Saleh Rafat, a member of the PLO Executive Committee denied the Jewish Temple ever existed. “Every part of our heritage in our land, they claim is their heritage – even the tunnels they are trying to dig beneath the Al-Aqsa Mosque and under Jerusalem,” he said. In that simple statement he shot down quite a few significant prophets who reported on that non-existent Temple.

The Arab motivation is clear. They have no plans for a future side-by -side partnership with Israel. They don’t really have a neighborly plan for anyone but their own Islamic mob. For now it is the ‘wipe Israel off the map’ plan, using the step by deceitful step method.

It works because so many simply ignore the downright evil motivating the process.

As the Palestine Media Watch team says ‘placing Palestinians, Arabs and Muslims in Israel in biblical times is historically impossible.’

1. The name "Palestine" as a replacement for the Land of Judea/Israel was coined by Rome only in 136 C.E., and for nearly 2,000 years Jews were the only Palestinians the world recognized.

2. Islam was established only in 610 C.E.

3. Arabs first arrived in Israel with the Muslim invasion in 637 C.E.

U.S. – Israel, Iran Ready

The USA and Israel have been conducting extensive training drills under the name Juniper Cobra. Though this is a regular exercise this year it has been described as at an unprecedented scope and nobody doubts the message it has sent to Iran.

The joint military exercise is focused on ballistic missile defense (BMD) exercises integrating the latest US and Israeli systems.

More than any speeches and statements by diplomats, Juniper Cobra sends a clear signal to Tehran. The USA and Israel have effective insurance should Iran proceed with its stubborn nuclear plan.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel highlighted her impatience with Iran during a speech before the U.S. Congress this week (Nov 3).

Merkel said the P5 + 1 has a no-go line. She said a nuclear weapon in the hands of an Iranian president who denies the Holocaust and denies Israel’s right to exist is not acceptable. (Stratfor)

Israel military intelligence chief Maj. Gen Amos Yadlin this weekend said Iran’s nuclear facility near Qom has ‘no possible civilian use.’
He warned Iran is ‘competent in enrichment technology.’ He also said Israel wants to prevent any of Iran’s 3,000 centrifuges from being installed at the Qom facility.

While the aggressive nature of Juniper Cobra is downplayed, there is little doubt the US and Israeli forces involved are taking the procedure very seriously.

Iran has continued to stretch the nuclear talks and there attitude towards the USA in particular remains belligerent.

Israel can be expected to be alert in the face of the Iranian threats which now come with nuclear possibilities attached.

Late last month, Israeli Air Defence Corps commander Brig. Gen. Doron Gavish said, “In time of need, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) will protect our country.” He indicated Israel’s defense capabilities will be enhanced by US co-operation.

Stratfor report Commander Carl Meuser, of the guided missile destroyer USS Higgins (DDG-76) said, ‘We’re here for some very specific reason, some specific threats that the Israelis are interested in, that we’re interested in. And that’s as far as I want to go.”

US Army Col. Anthony English, a commander of the Juniper Cobra exercise said, We are going to learn a lot of lessons here that directly apply to what they want to do in EUCOM (U.S. European Command)." He added, "This is the most complete air- and missile-defense exercise that we have done."

Iran take note.

NSW Text Book: Educating Ignorance

Ignorance is bliss, so the saying goes. It is also downright dangerous particularly when it is published as a form of education.

A New South Wales text book declares polygamy is ‘commonly practiced in Israel.’ The author of this grossly incorrect statement is Professor Christopher Hartney from the University of Sydnay.

His statement is deceiving and dangerous. Under Israeli freedom of religion laws, Bedouin men practice polygamy but within the Jewish society it has been banned for centuries.

Jewish reaction has been swift and critical both in Israel and Australia.

Journalist Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu wrote for Arutz Sheva (28 October, 2009): “Hartney’s stab at Jews as being involved in most modern conflicts in the world, among other slurs against Jews, caught the attention of Jewish students, who complained to authorities. The author also wrote that the Passover holiday involves slaughtering lambs, [and] smearing the lintel on the front door with blood,” rituals that are described in the Bible but which are not practiced today.

“Sacrificing animals was performed in the Holy Temples until the destruction of the Second Temple nearly 2,000 years ago.”

The book has been distributed to thousands of students and Jewish leaders in Australia fear it will kindle antisemitism. It will certainly add more to ignorance than truth.

"It is alarming that a book which is widely used in schools across New South Wales could contain so many inaccuracies and such appalling statements - one of which is in the realm of racial vilification,” said Jewish Board of Deputies chief executive Vic Alhadeff.

The publishers Cambridge University Press say they will ‘review’ the contents of the text book following objections made by the Board of Deputies.

On the University of Sydney website Professor Hartney is described as the author of studies on “the Baha’I Faith, New Language Development, Poetry, Séance, Surrealism and the operation of religious activities within ‘multicultural’ societies.”

I’m not surprised, really.

Conference Sparks One-World Government Alarm.

The 2009 United Nations Climate Change Conference (Dec 7-18) is a camouflage for a significant hidden agenda. The program initiates a major step towards establishing a one-world government.
International delegates will be invited to sign a treaty, said-to-be a proposal for protection against a potential global warming catastrophe.
Lord Christopher Monckton, a former science adviser to British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher said, ‘I read that treaty and what it says is this: that a world government is going to be created. The word ‘government’ actually appears as the first of three purposes of the new entity.”
He described the second purpose as the transfer of wealth from the countries of the West to Third World countries. The reason he said was, ‘we’ve been screwing up the climate and they haven’t.’ He was referring to what the treaty calls ‘climate debt’ relating to the burning of CO2.
The third purpose is to be ‘enforcement.’
Lord Monckton addressed a meeting of the Minnesota Free Market Institute October 14. He warned, President Obama will sign the Copenhagen treaty and he will do it without first of all submitting the treaty for senate approval.
‘So, thank you, America. You were the beacon of freedom to the world. It is a privilege to stand on this soil of freedom to the world, while it is still free. But, in the next few weeks, unless you stop it, your president, will sign your freedom, your democracy, and your humanity away forever,” he said.
Some will leap on Monckton’s remarks as paranoia or even akin to conspiracy theory but President Obama has made positive remarks about his global change agenda.
During a phone conversation (October 21) with Chinese President Hu Jintao, Obama discussed the Copenhagen Conference and the importance of dealing with climate change.
According to a Stratfor report: “he emphasized the US wants to work with all participants in the Copenhagen Conference to adopt meaningful steps to deal with the challenges.”
Hu said, “Although problems remain in talks for a final deal, there are hopes for a positive result at the Copenhagen Conference as long as the convening parties work together closely."
The treaty initiated by Greenpeace was authored by the David Suzuki Foundation, The League of Independent Activists, the National Ecological Centre of the Ukraine and WWF International.
The Greenpeace website says the document developed from a coalition of 47 NGO ‘experts from around the world.’
In Australia, the Sydney Morning Herald has announced the positive progress for the treaty has hit problems. (SMH: Putting a Spin on Emissions Treaty Failure, Anne Davies, October 27, 2009)
I am currently in Canada and authorities here are having second thoughts. So what seemed to be a show-on-the-road appears to be bogged down trying to gain an international consensus.
The entire global warming debate remains in full force apart from any form of international hierarchy policing the effective implementation of a real process.
Nevertheless, for bible-believers there should be a very stark alert. Apparently world leaders are ready to talk about a one-world government.
In recent months I have traveled throughout the UK, Canada and the USA highlighting Middle East events that indicate clearly an end-times, Matthew 24 expectation.
Toss in one-world government and the expectations rise yet again!

Choose This Day!

The passionate contest between the Palestinian Fatah-Hamas factions moved into a new phase this week when Mahmoud Abbas (Palestinian Authority chairman) announced elections for January 24, 2010.

Hamas and Fatah have failed to achieve any common ground despite the intervention of arbitrators from Egypt. Had they achieved success the election would have been scheduled for next June.

Now Abbas plans to isolate Hamas for elections that will spread throughout Judah and Samaria (the West Bank), east Jerusalem and Gaza.

Hamas ridiculed the chances of a successful election in the Gaza fortress. Abbas intends the election will freeze Hamas out of the process.

As the date draws closer, the friction between the two will be even more intense. The ratings for the two leaders Abbas (Fatah) and Ishmael Haniyeh (Hamas) is level at 16 per cent. Abbas has fallen from double that figure in recent weeks. His numbers fell sharply when he supported a move to delay for six months a UN discussion on the Goldstone Commission report which charged Israel with war crimes.

Some within the Palestinian community even called for his resignation.

These developments reveal the scary instability within the Palestinian hierarchy. Those who trumpet the ideal of a Palestinian State ‘living side by side in peace with Israel’ must embrace reality.

The same scenario has sucked the West into similar circumstances before. America is deeply involved with the corruption of the Afghani situation for instance. In that contest the government the USA and allied forces support is hardly any different from the Taliban.

No Peace Partner!

Soldiers die. Many are wounded seriously. The Obama administration is uncertain how to proceed. One American official even spoke out and said, “We do not seem to have a reliable peace partner, right now!”

Who do they suggest would be the reliable peace partner for Israel? Who would propose either Fatah or Hamas as the ideal next door neighbor+

The ‘experts’ have chosen Mahmoud Abbas as their ‘moderate’. He is trying to hold elections so that his Fatah faction will obtain a type of controlling leadership next January. The stage is set for the powers in Washington, London, Paris, Beijing and Moscow to push for a Palestinian State.

The circumstances line up with so much in bible prophecy. The nations of the world come against Israel with an ambition to prove God ineffective and Allah supreme.

The reality of the Palestinian state is closing in on Israel, the nuclear empowerment of Iran is advancing even while sham negotiations continue.

Choose this day!

These facts are challenging the rest of us too. We are all facing elections right now. In the words of Joshua, “Choose this day!” The church can withdraw and remain disinterested, even ignorant, but that is not what the Lord has in mind for His Bride.

Consider these comments by Pastor Jack Hayford.

‘God has made unique declarations regarding the land of Israel which have never been rescinded: Leviticus 25:23; Deuteronomy 32:43; 2 Chronicles 7:20; Psalm 85: 1-2; Isaiah 8: 8; Jeremiah 2: 7; Ezekiel 38:16; Joel 1: 6; 2:18; 3: 2; Hosea 9: 3; Zechariah 9:16.

“When we talk about Israel, we are dealing with: 1) a piece of property that God has made pronouncements about and 2) God’s people to whom He’s given the land. It is a major issue with the Creator of all things, and it is non-negotiable. Things that God has said, uniquely, about Israel have never been rescinded,” Hayford wrote (Why Stand with Israel, Today?”)

I would add ‘judgement begins in the house of the Lord’ and suggest Christianity is when we worship Yeshua and live with Him as our Lord.

Historic China-Israel Connection

Seven descendents of the Jewish community of Kaifeng, China have moved to Israel. Michael Freund, chairman of Shavei Israel contacted me with the report and made no attempt to camouflage his excitement.

Kaifeng is located on the banks of the Yellow River. A Jewish community has flourished in the region for more than a thousand years.

When they arrived the group went straight to the Western Wall where they recited the ‘Shechecheyanu’ and sang traditional Hebrew songs.

Freund has worked for years to obtain clearance for the group. He made repeated application to the Ministry of the Interior to obtain the necessary permits.

“This is truly an historic moment,” his email told me. He described the Kaifeng group as ‘a living link between China and the Jewish people.’

His excitement was shared with the newcomers. One of the new immigrants Yaakov Wang said, “This is something that my ancestors dreamed about for generations.”

Wang has his heart set on becoming a rabbi and hopes to encourage others from Kaifeng to learn more about their heritage.

The Ambulance of Wishes

Most stories coming out of Israel focus on problems, wars and worries. This week, the Israeli emergency ambulance service Magen David Adom (MDA) unveiled, ‘The Ambulance of Wishes’, a delightful concept with love, comfort and encouragement the theme.

Consistent with the Jewish desire to provide quality of life, the ambulance program will seek to fulfill the wishes of terminally ill patients and those with limited mobility. Friends of MDA provided NIS 1,200,000 ($324,000 USD) to make this dream come true.

“The Ambulance of Wishes” will take patients to locations they dream of seeing. Those places could be seaside or one of the many historic and religious locations Israel has to offer, or even time out at a sports or entertainment event is possible.

The ambulance is equipped to ensure a bump-free journey. A camera located in the roof provides passengers with a panoramic view of the passing scenery.

This ambulance also offers a sophisticated cinema complete with facilities for food and medicines. Even the wheelchairs have extra-wide tyres designed for easier management on the beach.

Specially trained Paramedics staff the ambulance and tours will be decided in consultation with the patient’s doctors and medical staff.

Christians and Jews share common ground agreeing that every person is created in the image of God. That marvelous fact remains true even when someone is suffering.

It is a delight to see Magen David Adom and the Israeli Ministry of Health seek to bless in such a meaningful and precious way.

The Language of the Enemy

Hamas children's program, "Tomorrow's Pioneers", last week included a part in which children learned that it is important to know English because it is "the language of their enemy."
It goes this way:
Child host: "What do you want to be in the future, Allah willing?"
Child caller: "A teacher of the English language."
Host: "Why do you want to be specifically an English teacher?"
Child: "To teach children the language of their enemy." [Child host smiles.]
Host: "Very nice. A great field. It is not enough for us to know our own language... We also want to study the language of our enemies, to know how to have contacts with them, and so that we can convey the message of Palestinian children..."
Nassur: "Like me! Just like I know the Zionist enemy's language."
Host: "Really?"
Nassur: "Hebrew."
Host: "Okay, speak [in Hebrew]."
Nassur: "I can't." [laughing].

A Partner for Peace

How is it world leaders insist the Palestinian community is in any way a ‘partner for peace.?’
Recently, the Obama administration has been held in checkmate because of concerns held about the Pakistani government and its real agenda in the war with the Taliban.
I actually heard a democrat defend the Washington indecision by saying, “We cannot be certain we have a partner for peace.”

Oh! Shock, Surprise!

It is very likely Mahmoud Abbas will push for elections early next year. It will be a shock if Hamas does not gain control of the Palestinian Authority in the ballot box.
Just picture the future Palestinian State with Jerusalem as its capital led by Hamas. I feel like writing ‘The Complete Idiots Guide to the Middle East,’ in the hope someone with an ounce of intelligence would read it.
In this children’s program we get another insight into the Islamic terrorist agenda. It really is very simple: English and Hebrew speakers are the enemy, ie. USA and Israel!

Frequent Flyer ‘Experts’

It would be great if just a few of the international decision-makers did not live like tourists. They make 3-4 day visits to the region and then run back home to conduct their press conferences as hard-boiled ‘experts.’
Folks, this world cannot function peacefully when the ‘experts’ we rely upon are nothing more than charismatic, well-groomed talking heads.
I learned many years ago not to judge a book by its cover. Today’s pollies (politicians) are polished and groomed to sell their agenda to the muggings mob (robots, sponges, sheep) who get their advice from a media just as twisted.
If we get the future we deserve, God help us but then the same ‘experts’ banned prayer in schools. Oh dear!

We all know about Iran’s terrorist tactics. We have watched as Iran feeds Hezbollah with the tools of death and disaster. Hamas has maintained its existence because of the support from Iran. The Moslem Brotherhood and so many others owe their brutal existence to Iranian training, equipping and motivation.

So why in the world is the Iranian-Taliban connection a taboo topic?

Most intelligence agencies know about the lethal combination that kills US and allied soldiers but there is no calls for anyone, anywhere to seek Iranian answers.

Iran should have won the Nobel Peace Prize. They have constantly been at war with most nations in the region without being targeted with the blame. That goes to the Taliban, Hezbollah, the Moslem Brotherhood and Hamas. Not Iran!!!!

The Iranian support has killed thousands of US soldiers in Iraq and now they continue their body-bag count courtesy of the Taliban.

CBS recently told the story of an Afghani border town which has enjoyed 24-hour electricity and ‘a booming economy’ thanks to Iran.

U.S. soldiers uncovered weapons ‘made in Iran.’ Those soldiers have openly made the details public but still the Obama administration and others want to paint the Iranian problem as directly connected to Israel alone.

In recent days the Taliban have inflicted more fatalities inside Pakistan. These successful raids have highlighted how deep the Taliban reaches inside a country said to possess 80 to 100 nuclear weapons.

Iran and the Taliban working together seem to be inflicting deadly results while the US ponders what to do.

There are US soldiers dying in the war with Iran. There are allied troops dying in the war with Iran. But no one wants to announce there is a war with Iran.

Analysts are suggesting the silence has an ulterior motive.

US President Barak Obama is still moving in Nobel Peace Prize mode and intends to talk to the likes of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, while the Iranian hits almost every bullseye with apparent immunity.

This meeting of great egos will apparently solve the Iranian nuclear problem (according to Obamanomics) and satisfy the pesky Israelis who are watching the scene with increasing concern

(One media lark in Israel has launched the Nobama Peace Prize…. To win you have to do absolutely nothing!)

Israel Ready to Attack ‘after December!”

Meanwhile the IDF Chief of Staff Lt.Gen Gabi Ashkenazi has reportedly told the French magazine Le Canard Enchaine Israel, may take action after December.

According to Israeli Radio the General said they might send elite troops into Iran to conduct activities there. (Interesting word ‘activities!’) The same report suggested Ashkenazi was also investigating a bulk purchase of food for his army.

At a meeting in Beijing (China) Russian leader Vladimir Putin said there is no need to intimidate Iran with sanctions. According to a Reuters report, Putin said the talks of sanctions against Iran were ‘premature.’

A report from Stratfor (15 October) says China will maintain high-level exchanges with Iran. Chinese Premier Wen Jaibao at a meeting with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said the Chinese-Iranian relationship has developed through leadership exchanges and cooperation in trade and energy. Iran’s nuclear know-how came from China and it’s technical assistance from Russia.

I get the feeling there are networks among nations today that have enough clout to bypass US support. Are the superpower days of the USA numbered?

It is time President Obama stopped winning prizes and started to seriously think of winning wars.

For centuries many churches discarded Israel as ‘old news.’ Major denominations embraced what is known as ‘replacement theology’which left the biblical curses with Israel but accepted the promised blessings to the Church.

Such theological gymnastics overlooked the fact that Jesus is Jewish and will return to Jerusalem as the Lion of Judah. There we are told, He will ‘judge the nations.’ Hmmm! I wonder what THAT means?

In modern times millions of Christian believers are observing end times events happening at an amazing pace. They are studying Ezekiel 37, 38 and 39 and also aware of Matthew 24, 25 and 26.

There is much happening to shout “Wake up!” to all who choose to be on the Lord’s side.

For instance old tensions between Russia and the United States have returned with a vengeance, as pressure mounts from the Russian-Iran nuclear connection. Could this connect with Ezekiel 38 and the whole Gog and Magog scenario?

In the past few days the International Atomic Energy Authority (IAEA) has advised, Iran it is further along the nuclear road than previously thought, a situation long-held by Israeli intelligence.

In spite of the October 1 Geneva talks with the P5 + 1 Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Aleksey Borodavkin has announced Russia intends to continue its military-technical cooperation with Iran. This announcement came in spite of demands Russia quit the Iranian deal.

Britain’s Sunday Times reported Israel had evidence Russian scientists were assisting Iran with development of its nuclear weapons program, that story was rejected by National Security Council chief Nikolai Patrushev.

The US is concerned Russia could be the stumbling block when ‘extreme sanctions’ are applied to the Iranian administration. Those sanctions are critical to stopping Iranian nuclear weapons aspirations and there is little time for any delays caused by Russian political grandstanding.

The Obama administration is taking another look at its intelligence estimates on Iran.

Russia is now under serious pressure. If it is to go forward in any effective, productive, relationship with the USA or the EU it will have to be seen as co-operating and not hindering progress with the mounting Iranian predicament.

The key to this tension is the Russian passion to once again be restored to superpower status. Vladimir Putin longs for the USA to recognize Russia’s Eurasian power.

Weapons on Display

Stratfor advise, Russia through its state arms exporter Rosoboronexport is planning to show off its lethal capabilities in Libya soon. A wide range of aircraft, air defence systems and high-precision guided missiles will be on parade including the S-400 Triumf air defence system.

The deputy-general director of Rosoboronexport, Alexander Mikheyev said his company expects to sign several breakthrough deals. It was reported last week Saudi Arabia will spend $2 billion to obtain the S-300’s specifically for defence against Iranian aggression.

In another interesting strategy US vice president Joe Biden is touring Poland, the Czech Republic and Romania to declare the USA has not deserted the Russian backyard.

The Obama administration recently discontinued plans for the BMD Weapons Shield program George W. Bush had promised in the region. Poland in particular felt slighted and exposed while many thought the decision was a suck up to Russia by Obama.

Biden has been charged with changing that opinion. His visit is heavily slanted towards a Russian audience but is also an attempt to heal a wound created between the USA and particularly Poland.

There is little doubt Warsaw felt abandoned by the Obama decision and Biden will seek to restore confidence. Poland is vital to US military aspirations. Middle East and even Russian locations are accessible from valued Polish sites.

The fact that the Biden visit was announced after Russia showed determination to continue its Iranian relationship, is not coincidence.

The USA recently allocated $51.9 million to create four huge bunker-busting bombs. These are ideal for destroying key Iranian nuclear sites and the order suggests Obama or at least his defence strategists are thinking ahead.

Israel recently took delivery of two German-made submarines both capable of firing nuclear-powered missiles. These developments suggest a more serious approach to Iran may be ahead.

Iran in typical macho Ahmadinejad style today threatened those who refuse to sell gas to them in response to the forthcoming sanctions will never do business with the Iranian regime again, this according to the Iranian Oil Minister Massoud Mirkazemi.

Not everyone in Iran supports the regime. Only 100 members attended the second joint meeting of parliament – the Majlis. 190 stayed away. The missing included the speaker and two vice-speakers. The presidential authority of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is under challenge and the Lord may yet intervene there.

In the midst of these developments, the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu must decide his deadline. When does the Iranian nuclear program reach the point of no return?
The security of the Jewish state is his priority and the date of decision continues to close in.

The prophecies we have from the Lord continue to be reported by media around the world, one headline after another. Events foretold take place on a daily basis.

The promise-keeping God told Israel, “I will never leave you or forsake you!” Has God changed His mind? Will He stand by and watch the annihilation of those He has called back to Israel as prophesied in Ezekiel 37?

Iran: The Untouchables

Yemen Imam University chief, Abdul Majeed al-Zindin has charged Iran is promoting Shiite ideology ‘by force.’ Maybe his charge should not come as a surprise but the fact that a Moslem leader said it makes it more important.

He said Iran supports the al-Houthi militants in Yemen a group whose agenda is less than peaceful.

The University leader hoped ‘wise Sunnis and Shias will hold dialogue.” He said they needed to ‘determine what they have agreed on and work according to it.”

Do you understand his suggestion. He called for the Moslem world to unite against the aggressive, belligerent ambitions of the Iranian regime.

Iran instantly responded. Their statement said they worked towards the ‘materialization of peace, stability and security’ in Yemen. In typical aggressive tone they charged that the Yemini government itself did not create peace, stability and national unity by maintaining its fight against the Shiite al-Houthi.

I don’t know about you but Iran seems to be saying the same meaningless rubbish to everyone and for some reason they continue to press on without any significant resistance from anyone.

Saudi Arabia is at odds with Iran. Egypt has threatened Iran. France is peeved over the slow international dealings with Iran. Now it is said Iran has obtained the recipe for manufacturing small nuclear devices.

Imagine those weapons in the hands of the Taliban or the Moslem Brotherhood, Hamas or Hizbullah. Not a pretty sight.

Anyone slightly aware of the potential disaster Iran poses for Israel and in fact the entire world must be sitting on the edge of their chairs by now.

Why My Hair is Grey!

The P5 + 1 (USA, UK, France, Russia, China and Germany) have agreed to the AIEA team inspecting the controversial Qom nuclear site. Iran announced the inspectors could visit on 25 October.

Why am I suspicious about the delay?

Why do I feel there is a cover up taking place right now?

Who do I fail to understand the P5 + 1 who seem to be responding with no sense of urgency?

Why do they believe the Iranians are telling the truth?

It may be US President Barrack Obama is the guiding influence in their decision. In a speech recently he referred to the “Israel Occupation” in 1967 as a key hindrance to peace between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.

Maybe he just does not know that Yasser Arafat created the Palestinian Liberation Organization (The PLO) way before 1967, before there was a West Bank.

Maybe he just did not know that President Nasser of Egypt was belligerent towards Israel long before 1967.

Maybe someone should just tell him.

The international stage is becoming crowded with key players. President Sarkozy of France has expressed his dissatisfaction with the lingering delays over Iran and its nuclear ambitions.

Russia is overjoyed. They are about to received a weapons contract from Saudi Arabia who are shopping for the S300 missiles in preparation for less than peaceful Iranian activities.

Israel PM Benjamin Netanyahu has declared that five Russian scientists have been assisting Iranian nuclear ambitions even while Russia sits on the P5 +1 and resists any anti-Iran decisions.

Israel last week took delivery of two German submarines, both capable of firing nuclear missiles. They are developing unmanned drones so investigations and attacks can take place without risk to Israeli life.

Months ago Israeli experts warned that we are living in a scenario very much like 1939. Back then the UK PM Neville Chamberlain negotiated with Adolph Hitler and returned to London believing he had talked the Nazi out of war.

Israeli believes that world is adopting Chamberlinian tactics all over again. Those who do not know history have a terrible propensity to repeat it.

The Qom nuclear enrichment plant was Iran’s secret until now. As soon as Iran’s deception was made public they agreed to weapons inspectors checking out the facility. The P5 + 1 instead of admonishing Iran for its illegal activity agreed to a neighborly visit by the AIEA inspectors.

Why was the visit delayed until late October?

To add to the quirkiness of these discussions, the Iranian Foreign Ministry on October 5th announced there is no reason to delay the launch of the Bushehr nuclear power plant (according to the Fars News Agency). Ministry spokesman Hassan Qashqavi referring to proposed gasoline sanctions against Iran said, Iran’s rights should be respected and there is no reason “to lay psychological and proaganda pressured’ on this country.

No one wants to isolate Iran. What each of us should expect is that they join the human race and behave like neighbots.

While their leaders harbor grandiose ambitions to foist Islam and the world with or without approval, they must be restrained and restricted.

While international dithering continues the Iranian dream goes on. How refreshing to hear the lone voice of a university chief in Yemen and a President in France.

I just continue to read Ezekiel 38 and wonder.

The World Delays Plans to Halt Iranian Nuclear Ambitions.

Over 8000 Christian Zionists are gathered in Jerusalem for the Feast of the Tabernacles. This witness of the Christian support for Israel and the Jewish people is timely.

There must be pangs of anxiety within the Netanyahu Israeli regime. The Geneva talks between the P5 + 1 and Iran turned out to be another Iranian victory over the so-called world superpowers.

Iran has been buying time for its dangerous activities for years and the Geneva gathering proved to be business as usual.

It was left to Iran news agencies to ‘leak’ details of the talks. The US and the other nations remained relatively tight-lipped. In Tehran however, the story was different.

We heard from the Iranians there will be further talks at the senior level at the end of October. In the meantime one on one talks with continue with Iranian officials will continue.

One Iranian official after another declared their right to nuclear power while also demanding a worldwide reduction of nuclear weapons.

Obviously the longer the building program closure is delayed the more Iran heads ruthlessly towards its objective – the bomb.

Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has openly declared his assessment that 2009 is like 1939. Back then the British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain opted to talk with Adolph Hitler.

That terrible misjudgement led to World War II and the horrific death of 6,000,000 Jews.

Netanyahu is adamant Iran will not obtain a nuclear weapon and with it obtain the capacity to cause a Holocaust by targeting Jerusalem or Tel Aviv.

Iran, Saudi Arabia and Egypt

Missiles tested this week in Iran have the capacity to travel long distances. They can hit all major locations in the Middle East as well as prominent US army and naval facilities.

The world is aware Iran feeds weapons, artillery and training to terrorist groups Hezbollah and Hamas. Iran is also strengthening the Taliban in its campaign against the US in Afghanistan not to mention the Iran-Iraq connection.

This mounting presence by Iran is not welcomed by Saudi Arabia and Egypt who consider the Shia-Persians as upstarts challenging the Sunni majority. Sunni represent 80 per cent of world Moslems and the Islamic heavyweights are not impressed with the momentum of the Iranian regime.

Analysts now predict President Obama will extend his sanctions strategy until the end of this year. The USA will not seek the enforcement of sanctions until Iran has every chance to ‘come clean,’ we are told.

This is where Netanyahu and the Israelis must be now feeling the tension. Even US Jews are in favor of Israel mounting an attack on Iran.

Just days ago Israel took delivery of two submarines purchased from Germany. Both could fired missiles carrying nuclear warheads.

Israel also this week placed an order for drones from India. These unmanned weapons can target a specific site without risking pilot injury.

In the past 6 months senior Israeli politicians, diplomats and army personel have earmarked the New Year as the final limit for Iranian co-operation.

Israel is not comfortable with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad having access to one nuclear bomb let alone four or five.

Countdown for Israel Decision

If the P5 + 1 opt for sanctions at the end of the year, that will provide Iran with even more time to continue its potent program.

In recent weeks we had one US army general suggest the Americans should shoot down or delay Israeli attempts to attack Iran by air. That comment raised eyebrows.

It is very likely the best sanctions applied by US, United Kingdom and French agreements will be undermined by Russia and China seeking their own goals. Efforts to stop the gas flow in and our of Iran or to penalize insurance companies for any part in the procedure could be trumped if Russia and China ignore the plan.

This isolates Israel.

It seems the Israelis have been in this place before but maybe this is the very first time, they feel a growing distance in their relationship with the US administration.

This is a new development to be watched prayerfully.

“Great Prophet 4” – Iran Missile Test!

The Iranian regime leaves little to the imagination. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadiinejad preached his commitment to peace even from the United Nations podium. He spoke of the coming Mahdi who in his radical Shia Moslem faith is due to return and bring peace on earth through power, authority and brutal submission.

The latest proclamation of the Khomeini-Ahmadinehad peace plan is the naming of this week’s missile test – “Great Prophet 4.” (Khomeini is Iran’s spiritual leader and his authority is without question among his peers)

The Iranian plans to obtain nuclear weapons and missiles has been the focus of hot debate this week. The P5 + 1 will meet with Iranian leaders October 1 in an attempt to negotiate an unlikely agreement.

This week the Islamic Revolutionary Guard is conducting a missile drill to test “the technical abilities and development recently undertaken in respect to the Revolutionary Guard’s surface to surface missiles,” according to Gen. Hossein Salami.

But why name this drill “Great Prophet 4?”

I researched this story from “Companions of the Great Prophet 4. It explains a great deal.

A young man Jafar had a striking resemblance to the Prophet Muhammed. Jafar and his wife were among the first people to accept Islam. Because of their faith they suffered great pain and persecution.

They remained faithful because they knew their path to Paradise was to be filled with hardships.

Interference from the objectors restricted Jafar in his worship until he settled in Abyssinia and found comfort and protection. Muhammed was sad his friends had to leave their homes and find security in Abyssina.

Jafar and his wife were hunted into Abyssinia, by those who sort to destroy their witness and belief. When demands were made for their extradition the Abyssinia ruler Negus demanded that he first speak to them and make his personal enquiries.

Jafar defended his faith and spoke of the persecution and suffering they experienced.

When Negus asked about “Jesus, the son of Mary” Jafar said, “Regarding him, we only say what has been revealed by our Prophet. Our Prophet says that Jesus is the servant of Hod and His Prophet. His spirit and His word which He cast into Mary the Virgin.” The story relates that Negus replied, “By God, Jesus the son of Mary was exactly as your Prophet has described him.”

Jafar and his wife stayed ten years in Abyssinia. Their second child is believed to have been the first in the history of the Moslem world to be given the name Muhammad.

Jafar was killed leading Muslim forces in a vicious battle with the Byzantines.

This story of Jafar has deep significance. He joyously died in a battle against a mighty Byzantine force. The Moslems were greatly outnumbered and three valiant leaders died achieving glory and an eventual victory.

Picture the future. Iranians may soon be called upon to resist international forces as they battle for nuclear capabilities. Is this the message portrayed by naming the missile tests ‘Great Prophet 4?”

There is absolutely no doubt Ahmadinejad believes the return of the Mahdi is at hand. He told us during his speech at the United Nations.

In his belief his champion, the Mahdi, arrives at a time of distress and destruction. The name “Great Prophet 4” is just another announcement of his wild intentions.

Qom, A Holy (Unholy!) Bomb Site

Iran has been forced to admit the existence of a second uranium enrichment facility. The Iranians sent a letter to the IAEA (the International Atomic Energy Agency) with the admission on September 21.
The Islamic holy city of Qom is the interesting location. Imagine the Shia Moslem reaction if any forces choose to raid this site!
International concern has been aroused because the facility is efficient to produce a smaller nuclear device. Experts say it takes less than 100 pounds of highly enriched uranium to make an effective explosive device.
If Iran has opted to equip smaller terrorist groups like Hamas, the Moslem Brotherhood, Hizbullah or indeed small rogue groups anywhere, this site and its capabilities is very appropriate.
Across the USA at present home-grown terrorists have been intercepted. One was captured in Queens, New York. His connections have been traced to Denver, Colorado.
Another 19 year-old would-be terrorist was caught trying to blow up a skyscraper in Dallas, Texas.
These events and recent threats to targets in Germany take this development beyond Israel and the Middle East.
Iranian strategy has been to lie and deceive world leaders when speaking of their nuclear intentions. The naïve response by the so-called world powers has escalated an international sense of insecurity. The most powerful man in the world right now looks to be impotent in the face of the threats.
US intelligence claims it has had the Iranian site under surveillance ‘for years.’ UK and French leaders said they were informed of its existence just weeks ago.
If these facts are true, there is a very serious breakdown with international co-operation. It is in fact an intelligence catastrophe, exposing the world to extreme consequences.
To add to the dilemma, the Qom location makes a military strike very difficult. The terrain means increased firepower will be required. If intelligence sources have in fact been aware of this development months, if not years ago, why have efforts to stop the progress taken so long?
How is it the Iranians can continue progress while world leaders play politics?
The strength and purpose of Israel and its leaders may be the only saving grace. Israel Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu has stood firm on his commitment to halt the Iranian nuclear program.
He said recently as far as Iran is concerned we are living in 1939. He warned Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad plans to inflict another Holocaust. Netanyahu is determined such an event will not take place certainly not while he governs.
Currently there are terrorist threats against targets in nations around the world.
The unbalanced, dangerous thought-processes of terrorist activists and facilitators Gaddafi (Libya) and Ahmadinejad (Iran) were given no less than a United Nations podium to parade their pathetic ambitions.
They had no concern what the world thought of their remarks. They spoke to terrorists around the world, inspiring and motivating them. To them, they are heroes participating in a holy war. Qom would seem to be the ideal location to produce their killer cargo.
Dan Gillerman, the former UN Ambassador from Israel said, “The world has been prepared to talk the talk; it is now time for them to walk the walk!”
He warned the time for Israel to act is near. Who is the world leader right now?

US intelligence claims it has been ‘tracking’ a secret nuclear site in Iran ‘for years.’ President Obama chose this week to announce the information and to call on Iran ‘to come clean.’

The choir of protest included UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown and French President Nicolas Sarkozy.

But a Foxnews interview with former Israel Ambassador to the UN Dan Gillerman was far more specific.

He said. ‘The party’s over!”

He said the P5 + 1 will meet with Iranian leaders on October 1st. According to the Gillerman that will be the last chance for Iran to halt its nuclear ambitions.

The alternative is stark. If necessary Israel will go it alone, Gillerman warned.

He was asked about the aftermath. How would Israel respond to heavy attacks from Hizbullah, Syria and Hamas? Gillerman said Israel lives with that danger every day.

He explained Israel forces have already considered sophisticated plans for their attack and he insisted, Israel will not hold back from effective action.

Surely the effectiveness of the United Nations is on trial on this very issue. It appears all the great powers of the world can do is make speeches. Dan Gillerman said they have ‘talked the talk’ but now is the time to ‘walk the walk!’

Most take the posturing words from the UN podium with a grain of salt but Israel is a different matter. It has been in continuous training to be David regardless of the Goliaths who threaten.

They also believe God is with them.

As I write this article Moslems are gathering in Washington for a prayer meeting.

They intend to declare “The time for Islam has come!”

They will swear on the Koran in the same place US Presidents swear on the Bible. In their own words they will ‘manifest’ their faith.

There is a growing fear in the USA ‘sharia’ (the Islamic way of life) is making progress across the land. Police and security units are searching for Islamic terrorists from New York to Denver. The question is asked how many terrorists already live in America with specific goals for violence.

Now parents are furious a local school has replaced the name of Jesus Christ in a popular chorus with the name Barrack Hussein Obama.

I have been preaching this message across the UK, Canada and USA since last June. It is no joy to see the events I mentioned becoming so imminent and threatening.

All I ask is those who believe in bible-prophecies, will stop making mountains out of molehills and begin removing the mountains that threaten to unleash an event with Noah floodlike proportions.

“A Three-Ring Circus” Almost!

President Obama met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas. The trio met in New York as international leaders arrived for the UN General Assembly.

Some suggest this Middle East conflict is the major motivation for terrorism worldwide but in fact it may well be a serious test on the determination of world leaders to defend their democratic rights.

Many observers were disappointed that the only proposal to come from the ‘summit’ was a plan to have ‘more talks.’ As Netanyahu told TV reporters “Time for talk must be over, steps should be implemented.”

It was President Obama who introduced talks of an Israel settlement freeze when he made his speech in Cairo months ago. He found in New York, Israel has strong reasons to resist his plans for withdrawal from Judea and Samaria (the West Bank).

The Israeli Prime Minister insisted concessions to the Palestinian negotiators can only be discussed after the so-called peace partners recognize Israel as ‘a Jewish state.’

Dr Benny Begin, the son of former Israel Prime Minister Menachem Begin made the concerns clear in a recent interview on IDF (Israel Defence Forces) Army Radio.

When asked if Israel was ready to make concessions, Begin said: “We’re not at that point. There is simply no point in discussing this when not only do they take impossible positions such as not recognizing Israel as a Jewish state, but they keep adding obstacles such as the one I’m about to mention, about which I can say that if they don’t revoke it, it will be impossible to get anywhere in negotiations. 

"Just a month ago, the moderate arm of the PLO, Fatah, publicized its goals, stating, ‘The armed revolution of the Arabic Palestinian nation is a decisive factor in the fight for the liberation and the liquidation of the Zionist presence. This struggle will not end until after the liquidation of the Zionist entity and the liberation of Palestine.’  Now I know that the thousands of drivers stuck in traffic jams probably were not able to get all of that, so let me read it again at dictation speed –"

“They know this clause, Mr. Begin!”, came the interruption, but Begin continued unruffled and emphatically: “…will not end until after the liquidation of the Zionist entity and the liberation of Palestine. This clause was ratified just a month ago at the Fatah conference.”

In these pressured talks Israel must make clear what the aspirations really are.

The conclusion that Fatah is a moderate, legitimate government is naïve to say the least.

The removal of Israel and the Jewish people is still part of their party platform and for the time being talks will continue until the way forward is clear of pit-falls.

For the time being Netanyahu has resisted pressure strongly and all Israel will be praying he maintains his stand.

Oh No! Another Bible prophecy begins to surface!

This week (September 7, 2009) the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) has been about fixing the problems with the world monetary system. They are proposing a major overhaul for global currency. Their solution includes the demise of the US dollar and the introduction of a one-world currency.

This is not a new proposal. In the past China and Russia have called for the US dollar to be replaced as the world’s reserve currency. China owns a large portion of the US debt and is being increasingly assertive particularly promoting an overhaul to address the world financial crisis.

As early as March, 2009 China central bank governor Zhou Xiaochuan took the offensive and issued a paper calling for an economic revolution.

Premier Wen Jiabao has expressed his concern that China holds significant amounts of U.S. government bonds, while banks in China have suffered because of the global economic downturn. This situation created a firm drop in demand for Chinese exports, he said.

China and Russia have spearheaded a group determined to break with dependence on the dollar. They are supported by India and Brazil. The G20 meeting gave their submissions serious consideration.

"Replacing the dollar with an artificial currency would solve some of the problems related to the potential of countries running large deficits and would help stability," said Detlef Kotte, one of the report's authors.

These thoughts are not merely coming from sources outside the USA.

Earlier this year Jeffrey D. Sachs, director of the Earth Institute of Columbia University said, ‘The US dollar cannot and should not take all the responsibility for the world monetary system. We need a stable and serious transition to new international monetary regime.” He went on to warn ‘the dollar will gradually depreciate by 20 to 25 per cent to rebalance the world system overtime.”

President Obama and US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner were part of the G20 talks. Last March Geithner indicated support for the China plan and his comments caused an immediate crash in the dollar’s value.

Cheng Siwei, head of China’s energy drive is concerned about the US economy. “If they (US) keep printing money to buy bonds it will lead to inflation, and after a year or two the dollar will fall hard.” He said China will begin to diversify into ‘euros, yen and other currencies.’ China holds the world’s largest reserves, $2 trillion.

Some prefer to look away and think of other concerns but I am reminded that it was not so long ago ‘experts’ suggested the introduction of the euro was ‘a pipedream.’

It is worth reading Daniel 7: 16-24 and Revelation 13 to catch up on the headlines.

And by the way, US Defence Secretary Robert Gates has advised the Middle East nations to upgrade their military strength and their arsenal of weapons so they can effectively cope with the mounting Iranian crisis. He suggested such an effort might deter Iranian nuclear ambitions.

I received this report September 9: “Iran has or is near to having “sufficient low-enriched uranium to produce one nuclear weapon if the decision were made to further enrich it to weapons grade,” U.S. envoy to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Glyn Davies said Sept. 9, Davies, speaking at an IAEA board meeting, said Iran is moving “closer to a dangerous and destabilizing possible breakout capability.”

To say the least the IAEA exercise has been one mounted by confusion and double-talk. Predictions of a nuclear Iran by so-called experts have been from next year to 2014.

Israel has consistently warned of a nuclear ready Iran early 2010. It was not insignificant Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met in Moscow this week to discuss the Russian weapons connection with Tehran.

His trip was bathed in secrecy but be assured it had a very serious purpose.

We should be preparing for a future of biblical proportions.

Iran-Israel and Prayer Power

Israel has been preparing for the worse-case scenario for several years now. Under Prime Minister Ariel Sharon the “Samson Option’ was created. Samson was to be implemented only after Israel was attacked.

A second strategy “Project Daniel” has been studied and considered for the past six years. It was tabled in detail at the Herzliya Conference February, 2009.

This strategy comes into play if an enemy state acquires nuclear capabilities and threatens to attack Israel. Though Project Daniel proponents insist a nuclear campaign initiated by Israel would be a decision of last resort, it remains possible.

The extreme nature of its use is highlighted by the Project Daniel statement, that Israel would fire if the enemy was known to have entered the countdown stage of an attack.

The team concluded by saying: “The Final Report of Project Daniel recommended "a recognizable retaliatory force should be fashioned with the capacity to destroy some 15 high-value targets scattered widely over pertinent enemy states in the Middle East."

“This "counter-value" strategy meant that Israel's second-strike response to enemy aggressions involving certain biological and/or nuclear weapons would be unambiguously directed at enemy populations, not at enemy weapons or infrastructures.

“Looking over the evolution of pertinent existential threats to Israel over the past six years, it seems that our original recommendation was entirely correct.”

Jerusalem Post columnist Carolyn Glick is a former army intelligence officer and retains contact in high places. In September she published a column insisting that Israel has no alternative but an attack inside Iran.

The former Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Dore Gold is a close adviser to Prime Minister Benjamin Natanyahu. His most recent book is ‘The Rise of Nuclear Iran.” In it he outlines the serious threat to Israel and to Europe and the USA of an Iran stubbornly rushing towards nuclear empowerment. He also highlights repeated errors by US presidents from Jimmy Carter onwards who ignored reality and allowed the current Khomeini regime to gain power and create a militant society.

He condemned the ineptitude of US intelligence sources who have a track record of misreading Iranian intentions.

Analysts worry any attack on Iran will be difficult and indeed devastating. They all agree the deadline is getting closer. Some have focused on the strategic difficulty faced by any raid trying to target five or more Iranian nuclear facilities. But another intelligence report predicts 30,000,000 would die if Israel just bombed Tehran. (Try and absorb that statistic alone).

No one underestimates the ability of Iran to defend itself. Apart from potent weapons fired from Iran, it has Hizbullah, Hamas and the Moslem Brotherhood positioned for front-line duty. Israeli intelligence warns Hizbullah is now more potent with weapons and firepower than ever.

Thought of a Middle East nuclear exchange created nothing less than a vivid, terrifying, ugly picture.

Although the wars of the past have been awful tragedies, the simple statistics that loom in any future exchange are beyond comprehension. Modernity has delivered the internet, wonderful new home appliances, a variety of better-living assets but also weapons that are more effective, more deadly, lethal.

How would you proceed if you were Prime Minister of Israel, or President of the United States?

The growing enormity of decisions on their desks highlight how much we need the Lord. Only He can bring sanity into this out-of-control scenario.

Only He can bring ‘the peace of God that passes all understanding.’ Only Jesus can say to the storm, ‘be still!”

With all the problems needing to be answered quickly, we are the most powerful people on earth. We have the power of prayer. Unleash your power today.

Let us attack the enemy and call on the Almighty to ‘rend the heavens and come down.’ Move in your anointing. Do not be a spectator, be a saint of the Most High God.

50,000 Moslems Plan Giant Mosque on Capitol Hill, USA

The name of the website is islamoncapitolhill.com. It forecasts 50,000 Moslems will assemble in the same location where US presidents swear on the Bible and are inaugurated.

The website declares ‘Our Time Has Come!”

The host mosque is in Elizabeth, Dar-ul-Islam. They are billing the prayer gathering as the first event of its kind. A permit was granted by Capitol Hill police on July 28.

The organizers believe they can create a giant outdoor mosque. The Jummah service – weekly Friday prayers – will be the feature.

“Thousands of Muslims from all races, creeds, colors and ethnicities will gather for the sole purpose of prayer,” the organizers’ website states, and “the peace, beauty and solidarity of Islam will shine through America's capitol.”
The website is headlined by the red, white and blue US flag and an inset of a brown hand shaking the hand of one symbolizing the US. “Islam & America” it reads.
The announcement goes on to say: “The Athan will be chanted on Capitol Hill, echoing off of the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument and other great edifices that surround Capitol Hill

“Thousands of Muslims from all races, creeds, colors and ethnicities will gather for the sole purpose of prayer

“Bonds of friendship will be formed between those in attendance, both Muslims and Non-Muslims

“Muslim youth will experience tours of the Library of Congress and the Supreme Court.”
Interesting to read the Wikipedia comment on ‘athan’ (or ‘adhan’):

The Buck Stops Here:September, 2009

The US media will never let the world forget 9/11 but 9/09 might pass with little or no recognition. President Obama and the world face a moment of decision September, 2009.

He who is at home making speeches, has announced he will encourage the imposition of serious sanctions on Iran, if they insists on maintaining their nuclear program. Let me say here, Mr President, they will proceed.

Obama faces an embarrassing egg-in-the-face moment for he insisted his talks with Iran would lead to a new ‘Sound of Music’ world of euphoria.

Because Obama hates to lose face, Israel is bracing for the Obama backlash.

Some say the US president has challenged Israel PM Bibi Netanyahu saying he must freeze settlement plans before Obama tightens the screws on Iran. Of course, if Israel balks at such a scheme, as they should, the Obama propaganda machine will say it was the Israel stubborn stand that caused the Iranian crisis.

But the Obama cup of tea and chat proposal was doomed from the start.

No way were the Iranian Shi’ite clerics and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad prepared to be bullied by Washington or anyone else. The Iranians live in the firm belief Allah is with them but current negotiators still think they are dealing with a political problem rather than a seeing a passionate religious one.

Such a scenario should surprise no one. The battle has raged for centuries. Not only do the Iranian (Persian) Shia Moslems struggle with the western world ‘infidels’ they also wrestle constantly with the Sunnis.

By the end of August Saudi Arabia were finalising an arms deal with Russia. The shopping list included 30 MI-35 attack helicopters, 120 MI-17 helicopters, 150 T-90S tanks, 250 BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles and ‘several dozen’ air defence systems.

The question is whether the Saudis believe this arsenal is part of their program for contest with Israel or are they more concerned by the growing ambitions out of Iran. Bare in mind Saudi Arabia is Arab and the home of Sunni Moslem enemies of the Iranians.

The Sunnis have no desire to see Iran as the Moslem world supreme power. Sunnis make up more than 80 percent of the world Moslem population so the struggle is severely imbalanced.

But the countdown has begun for the Obama administration. Are they ready to stop talking and delivering? The Israelis have grave doubts. Those in Israel who believe Obama supports Israel have now reached 4 per cent. These are hardly comforting statistics for democratic party members in the USA who have relied on finances and votes from the Jewish sector, particularly in light of the elections due in 2010.

September, 2009, is shaping to be a month that may not just impact the Middle East but it may start a tidal wave of terror this world has never experienced before.

Every voter in any country should be demanding that their representatives begin to take their political activities seriously. Our votes are not a licence for any politician to ignore the constituents. If we have reached that point the system needs a real shake up before the terrorists rule us all.

Obama: A Russian Roadmap

I have studied with concern a decade of activity by Russian strongman Vladimir Putin. My concern is his meticulous action seems to be the roadmap for recent activities by the Obama administration in the USA.

The Russian business world was dominated by ‘oligarchs’, entrepreneurs who controlled economic empires through a variety of shady activities. In 199 the Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, the former chief of the KGB called the oligarchy together and issued knew rules of operation.

For them to retain government favor the economic heavyweights had to pay their taxes and cease any form of political activity. Putin became acting-president in 2000. He had the muscle to make his program work.

In the new Putin-world the term ‘oligarch’ fell into disfavor and a new breed emerged the ‘Silovarchs.’ This elite band were identified because of their elegance to the Kremlin. In return they had government resources, even the armed forces to back their efforts.

As the international economy boomed the Silovarchs enjoyed an influx of currency from international sources including the USA, Europe and Asia.

In a rush to enjoy the business bonanza Russian banks over-extended. No doubt the prospects were boosted as oil prices jumped through $100 (USD) a barrel.

The global financial crisis came in 2008. Russian businesses and banks held more than $500 billion in outstanding debt, at that time.

The Russian business elite were forced to cut back their once extravagant lifestyle. They all turned to Putin for help.

While some ‘oligarchs’ tried to survive the storm, others responded to a Kremlin stimulus package. The Federal Security Service, Putin’s replacement for his beloved KGB, were assigned duties to check on oligarch business activities while the Kremlin gathered control of private industries by offering debt relief.

Some Russian businessmen have taken to registering their business activities overseas in an effort to save their wealth and maybe to avoid detailed investigations.

An analysis by Stratfor suggests in great detail that these developments leave the Kremlin with the awesome power to decide what businesses succeeds or fails.

It can be assumed that only those loyal to the Putin plan will be given the hand of encouragement, financial or political.

There are frightening similarities in this process that should sound alarms for all those impacted by any form of ‘stimulus package.’

Any person in debt knows, there is a loss of personal freedom and liberty while ever another holds your future in their bank accounts.

There are more ways of winning a war than just using bullets and bombs. “Beware the Devil prowls around like a lion seeking who he can destroy.” We need wisdom and we need the freedom of our faith to walk in liberty and not to surrender to bondage of any kind.

Do Not Despise Prophecies (1 Thess. 5: 20)

“Remember the former things of old,
For I am God, and there is no other;
I am God, and there is none like Me,

Declaring the end from the beginning,

And from ancient times things that are not yet done,
Saying, “My counsel shall stand,
And I will do all My pleasure.’ (Isaiah 46: 9-10)

Bible believers have a divine destiny. By knowing, studying and understanding the Word of God we can achieve a clear vision and direction in and throughout our lives. Part of the divine guidance system is the Word of Prophecy, a certain signpost for those who seek to follow.

“Do not despise prophecies” (1 Thess. 5:20). The Apostle Paul gave this exhortation after writing: “But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night” (1 Thess. 5: 1-2).

It is clear Paul knew his audience in Thessalonica were aware of prophecy. They were divinely forewarned of events connected to ‘the day of the Lord.’ They knew because of the details already declared in the Word of God.

Serious bible scholars estimate there are about 2,000 prophecies in the Bible. Eighty per cent have been fulfilled. Many are being manifested today. By knowing the prophetic Word we obtain strength and security that our times are in the hands of the Lord.

A study of biblical prophecy is exciting and it guides us to know and understand the days we are living in. The world headlines and events in the Middle East speak of a specific time in history.

“But you, O mountains of Israel, you shall shoot forth your branches and yield your fruit to My people Israel, for they are about to come.
For indeed I am for you, and I will turn to you, and you shall be tilled and sown. I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, all of it; and the cities shall be inhabited and the ruins rebuilt.
“I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bear young; I will make you inhabited as in former times, and do better for you than at your beginnings. Then you shall know that I am the LORD.” (Ezekiel 36: 8-11)

When Israel reappeared as a nation in May, 1948 it was no surprise to Bible-believers. That significant event was clearly prophesied in scripture.

He will set up a banner for the nations,
And will assemble the outcasts of Israel,
And gather together the dispersed of Judah
From the four corners of the earth.” (Isaiah 11:12)

The Lord established Israel as ‘a banner.’ We were meant to notice how He brought ‘the outcasts’ and ‘the dispersed’ home. A banner is an item of display. It is to be seen, to draw attention to a time and place of significance.

Bible-teacher Derek Prince said, “Beware the day is coming when biblical prophecy will be history.” He wrote those words in 1973.

“For then I will restore to the peoples a pure language,
That they all may call on the name of the LORD,
To serve Him with one accord.” (Zeph. 3: 9)

What an amazing verse? Eliezer Ben-Yehuda (1858-1922) was the driving force behind the restoration of the Hebrew language. He faced formidable resistance. Many believed Hebrew to be ‘the holy language’ (a pure language). They objected to it being used for common purposes.

Nevertheless, “The seeds of Ben-Yehuda's work fell on fertile ground, and by the beginning of the 20th century, Hebrew was well on its way to becoming the main language of the Jewish population of both Ottoman and British Palestine” (Wikepedia)

It was a prophetic word that prepared us for the restoration of the Hebrew language.

“Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: “They shall again use this speech in the land of Judah and in its cities, when I bring back their captivity: ‘The LORD bless you, O home of justice, and mountain of holiness!’ (Jeremiah 31:23)

Now it shall come to pass in the latter days
That the mountain of the LORD’S house
Shall be established on the top of the mountains,
And shall be exalted above the hills;
And all nations shall flow to it.
Many people shall come and say,
“Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD,
To the house of the God of Jacob;
He will teach us His ways,
And we shall walk in His paths.”
For out of Zion shall go forth the law,
And the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.” (Isaiah 2: 2-3)

In Jewish tradition the Third Beis HaMikdash (Temple) is the place of kedusha (holiness). In prophesy Isaiah called it “My house of prayer.”

“Even them I will bring to My holy mountain, And make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be accepted on My altar; For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.” (Isaiah 56: 7)

Yeshua was speaking of the Second Temple when He said: “It is written, “My house is a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of thieves.’ ” (Luke 19:46)

During July 2009 work starting on rebuilding the altar for the Third Temple. In August 2008 The Temple Institute reported that Rabbi Shlomo Riskin, the chief rabbi of Efrat and other kohanim (priests0 were measured for their priestly garments ‘according to the exact specifications in the Torah.’ (http://www.templeinstitute.org/archive/03-08-08b.htm)

Yehuda Glick, the Temple Institute's Director, declared, "Today, in this room, kohanim are being measured for the first time in 2,000 years for the type of garments they will be wearing in a rebuilt Temple."

“They have said, “Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, That the name of Israel may be remembered no more.”
For they have consulted together with one consent; They form a confederacy against You: The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites;
Moab and the Hagrites; Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek; Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre; Assyria also has joined with them; They have helped the children of Lot. Selah (Psalm 83: 4-8)

Many nations have planned to ‘wipe Israel off the map.” Notice they no longer exist. Edom, The Ishmaelites, Moab, The Hagrites, Gebal, Ammon, Amalek, Philistia , The inhabitants of Tyre – all removed to the dustbin of history.

We are living in days when this passionate anti-semitic attitude is finding new intensity.

There is a prophecy directly related to such an attitude.

“Let all the earth fear the LORD; Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him. For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast. The LORD brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; He makes the plans of the peoples of no effect. The counsel of the LORD stands forever, The plans of His heart to all generations.” (Psalm 83: 8-11)

Even now there is a passionate plan to divide Jerusalem but this comes as no surprise.

“Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem. And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it.” (Zech 12: 2-3)

Negotiations continue to pursue land for peace deals. Such efforts are spiked with danger.

Matthew Henry wrote: “The nations that come against Jerusalem, many and mighty nations – shall all be destroyed – the mischief they intended will be returned on their own heads.” (Zephaniah 12: 9)

World leaders plough ahead with little or no concern for the promises of God, let alone His prophecies.

‘There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the Lord.” (Proverbs 21:30)

Much has already occurred in world history to show His sovereignty.

“He makes nations great, he enlarges nations and disperses them,” (Job 12;23). Surely in modern talks and negotiations it can be said ‘there is no fear of God before their eyes.’

British-born bible scholar and teacher Derek Prince lived in the Middle East during the heady days of 1948. He was there when Israel became a nation.

He observed the British government ‘attempt to undermine the decision of the United Nations (to establish the Israel state) by resisting the establishment of the state of Israel.” He believed that shift came about because of the Arab control over Middle East oil and he referred to a latent seed of anti-semitism that surfaced ‘at this juncture.’

Derek Prince said it was at this time the powerful British Empire began to disintegrate and Great Britain steadily deflated to less than the world power it once had been. (The Promised Land – The Future of Israel Revealed in Prophecy, Derek Prince, Chosen, Grand Rapids, Michigan).

This reality should inspire a new and fervent submission to the Lord and His prophetic word.

“The chariots rage in the streets, They jostle one another in the broad roads;They seem like torches, They run like lightning. (Nahum 2: 4)

Even those many years ago the prophet saw the raging in the streets of Jerusalem and the jostling, horn-honking traffic.

“The wilderness and the wasteland shall be glad for them, And the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose; It shall blossom abundantly and rejoice, Even with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it,The excellence of Carmel and Sharon. They shall see the glory of the LORD, The excellency of our God.” (Isaiah 35: 1-2)

“One of Israel's highest priorities has been to provide enough food for its population, and this has triggered off a massive and costly campaign to reclaim the Negev, which makes up 65% of the national land area. Although the initial prospects weren't encouraging, a turning point came in 1964 with the completion of the Israeli National Water Carrier (INWC). The INWC is an elaborate system of pipes, conduits and tunnels which was designed to carry water from the Sea of Galilee, in the far North, to the rain-starved areas of the center and the south. For the Negev itself, the scheme meant an additional 320 million cubic meters of water a year - a 75% increase.
“By 1985, some 60,000 hectares were under cultivation and a one-time wasteland of sand and rock was yielding its own rich crop of fruit, vegetables, cereals and cotton.
“Another vital element in the "greening" on the Negev has been the widespread use of new technology, especially drip irrigation.

The Lord is faithfully fulfilling His prophetic word.

When you study the Bible in search of prophecy there is a phrase that repeats often – ‘in that day.’

Here are just some of the ‘in-that-day’ verses. They are listed without comment. I pray you will take time to study them and seek understanding from each one.

“The lofty looks of man shall be humbled,
The haughtiness of men shall be bowed down,
And the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.” (Isaiah 2:11)

“In that day a man will look to his Maker,
And his eyes will have respect for the Holy One of Israel.” (Isaiah 17: 7)

“Therefore My people shall know My name;
Therefore they shall know in that day
That I am He who speaks: “Behold, it is I.’ ” (Isaiah 52: 6)

“For it shall come to pass in that day,’
Says the LORD of hosts,
‘That I will break his yoke from your neck,
And will burst your bonds;
Foreigners shall no more enslave them.” (Jer. 30: 8)

“And it will come to pass in that day
That the mountains shall drip with new wine,
The hills shall flow with milk,
And all the brooks of Judah shall be flooded with water;
A fountain shall flow from the house of the LORD
And water the Valley of Acacias.” (Joel 3:18)

“Many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and they shall become My people. And I will dwell in your midst. Then you will know that the LORD of hosts has sent Me to you.” (Zech 2: 11)

These are just a random selection of the ‘in-that-day’ scriptures. Have you studied them? In the face of the persistent anti-Israel headlines of today do you meditate on His word? He says, His word will not return to Him empty?”

There is a serious warning to be embraced by believers.
“But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark.” (Mark 24:37-38)

It is easy to be distracted and overwhelmed by our own agenda. It is easy to be busy with all manner of activities. As in the days before the flood the people were absorbed with eating and drinking. marrying and giving in marriage – even as the clouds were building.

These are important times. We must ensure that we embrace the exhortation to ‘not despise prophecies.’

The Hebrew word ‘mazkir’ can be translated ‘watchman’ or ‘secretary’ (Isaiah 62: 6-7). It is the work of the secretary to remind the employer of important times and appointments.

As we study the certain and assured prophetic word of God, He calls us to be His watchmen on the wall. It is our role to seek Him through intercession and prayer and remind Him of the appointed times He has placed on His calendar.

Those times and seasons are found in the Words of Prophecy. They are the foundation for living today and our certainty for tomorrow.

Shabbat
(Edited notes from Ron's teaching on "Shabbat")

When we were leaving Israel after five years living in Jerusalem, many asked us, “What will you miss the most?”

Unhesitatingly, our answer was ‘The Shabbat.”

That’s the name given to the Sabbath by the Hebrews.

In the west few people understand its significance, although it is probably the best known of all the Jewish holidays.

We were struck by the religious observances of the Jewish people.

As we travelled to work each day on the No. 7 bus, people of all ages read their bibles. There was absolutely no place that was thought to be too public for a display of reverence and worship.

Our first experience of the Shabbat was really one of shock.

We lived in a quiet Jerusalem suburb, not far from the local synagogue. Every Friday afternoon we watched as the men rushed home from work with a bouquet of flowers and often a box of chocolates as well.

Bringing home beautiful flowers was soon a custom we adopted and I was blessed to see how much my wife appreciated the gesture.

Every country sets aside important days for a work-free holiday experience. Those days are considered to hold events of such importance, the nation believes it is of value for everyone to stop work and at least acknowledge that significance.

So what value is there in considering a day in seven, set aside, dedicated to a relationship with God?

Let’s consider the world without Shabbat.

Tension, stress, suicide, rejection, divorce, desperation – all these attributes and activities are on the rise.

The world is shrinking and those of different opinions rub against each other more violently than ever before.

How does Shabbat impact those problems?

Consider the Hebrew understanding of the holiday.

For them….

The creator of the universe and of all mankind gave this instruction:

Ex. 13:6 “Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, and on the seventh day there shall be a feast to the LORD.”

On the seventh day of every week the Shabbat-observers are reminded their well-being and peace-of-mind is centred in their awareness of God and His divine wisdom for their lives.

They cease from work; very few cars are on the roads and highways; families take the opportunity to stroll down the middle of the street as they take time to relax with each other.

The order of Shabbat priorities can vary from home to home but most will take time to include rest – prayer – Torah study.
No businesses are open; no buses, few taxis.

We were blessed to be invited into Jewish homes to enjoy their celebration and to observe their family fellowship focussed on the worship and the word.
Because this is a feast unto the Lord the family is present in their best clothing – the best dishes are used – it is really a feast prepared with the Lord in mind.

During the Shabbat tradition the father places both hands on each child and prays a blessing.

He says over his sons: “May God make you like Ephraim and Manasseh.”

Over his daughters: “May God make you like Sarah, Rebekah, Rachel and Leah.”

As I observed this tradition, I though how dynamic?

In the West so many young people want to be like a sports champion, or musician or movie star.

The Shabbat tradition makes the primary goal for the children to grow into the traditions of their fathers. Their heroes are bible personalities.

This has continually been a process of strength for the Jewish people.

Husbands and wives may also share a blessing – one to the other.

In the presence of the family the father reads Proverbs 31: 10-31 to their wives.

Wives will read Psalm 112 to their husbands.

This is edifying for both parents but it is also a powerful witness of their relationship for the children.

At the end of the Friday night celebration – everyone joins hands and sings or says something like this: “May Adonai, bless you and guard you. May Adonai shine Divine light upon you, and be good to you. May Adonai face you and give you peace.”

On Saturday morning they attend synagogue.

Throughout the day it is family time.

Most will tell each other bible stories; they will study the Torah portion of scripture; they will visit friends and neighbours. Most families will enjoy games together, visit the park and simply enjoy the richness of the family which is esteemed as a blessing from God.

I find this interesting

Gen. 2:3 “Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.”

The ancient Hebrew translation of this verse says: “God respected the seventh day.”

The Sabbath is significant. The Lord set it aside to be observed as something special. In Sabbath observation He intended that we would receive deep in our hearts all that it represents – particularly in relationship with Him and within our families and community relations.

One of the major reasons the Jewish people observe the Sabbath is that they recall Israel’s deliverance from Egypt – Deut. 5:15.

How seriously do we recall the joy of our salvation?

Do we regularly take time to remember that great miracle that brought us out of this world – or has that become so taken-for-granted that so many Christians begin to resemble the world more than the Kingdom?

If we are truly servants of the Lord, and His word guides and leads us, how is it we feel free to ignore His commands?

Jesus said, ‘Come unto Me all who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest.” (Matt 11:28}

He was saying that we find our Sabbath rest in Him.

But do we stop and cease work to spend time with Him or is the day that has been set aside become the day for golf, sports, barbeques and more activity, activity, activity.

Matt. 11:29 “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”

So many Christians are so busy working on saving themselves they fail to accept what Christ has done for them.

He finished the work but we all need time with Him to accept His full assurance.

We must get over the idea that the Jews observe their faith through legalism. They understand grace. They also understand obedience.

But many in the Christian world have redefined His Sabbath according to our ideas, our plans and ambitions, forgetting that Jesus emphasized He is ‘Lord of the Sabbath.” (Matt. 12: 8)

The challenge I found in this teaching is simple. Do we have such warm communication with our children that we can lay hands on them during the Sabbath and pray the Lord’s blessing on them?

On this tour I have prayed with Christians in many different churches all with the same dilemma – their children have left the faith.

We prayed God would restore the ways of communicating. That He would provide a Bridge to allow the richness of His grace to come flooding on those you love.

Abbas Zaki: The Two-State Solution Precedes the Collapse of Israel.

Israel will collapse when the two-state solution is established. At least that is the opinion of the Palestinian Ambassador to Lebanon Abbas Zaki.

Zaki was interviewed by ANB TV (May 7, 2009). He said: “With the two-state solution, in my opinion, Israel will collapse, because if they get out of Jerusalem, what will become of all the talk about the Promised Land and the Chosen People? What will become of all the sacrifices they made – just to be told to leave? They consider Jerusalem to have a spiritual status. The Jews consider Judea and Samaria to be their historic dream. If the Jews leave those places, the Zionist idea will begin to collapse. It will regress of its own accord. Then we will move forward.”

The Ambassador also denounced America. “We consider the U.S. to be an enemy because its only strategic alliance is with Israel,” he said.

The Interviewer said: “I can assure you that in his speeches, Abu Mazen (Mahmoud Abbas), says the U.S. is a friendly country.”

Abbas Zaki replied: “Well, this isn’t true. Perhaps Abu Mazen, in his position, needs to use diplomatic language, but he is the greatest critic of the U.S.”

He said, “The P.L.O (Fatah-the Palestinian Authority) is the sole, legitimate representative (of the Palestinian people), and it has not changed its platform even one iota. In light of the weakness of the Arab nation and the lack of values, and in light of the American control over the world, the P.L.O proceeds through phases, without changing its strategy. Let me tell you, when the ideology of Israel collapses, and we take, at least Jerusalem, the Israeli ideology will collapse in its entirety, and we will begin to progress with our own ideology, Allah willing, and drive them out of all Palestine.”

The words of Ambassador Zaki sum up the strategy implemented by Yasser Arafat and continue by Palestinian leaders to this day. It is interesting he chose to refer not to Fatah or the Palestinian Authority but to the P.L.O (The Palestinian Liberation Organization), the name created by Arafat.

Where does Christian theology stand if there is no Israel?

If the Jews are removed from this land with the help of western powers what consequences would that create?

Holiness – the Pillar we stand on

1Cor. 1:2,3 To the church (assembly) of God which is in Corinth, to those consecrated and purified and made holy in Christ Jesus, [who are] selected and called to be saints (God’s people), together with all those who in any place call upon and give honor to the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, both their Lord and ours: Grace (favor and spiritual blessing) be to you and [heart] peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. What does it mean to you to know that you are ‘made holy in Christ Jesus.’

During my time here in Jerusalem, the singular most important turning point for Bridges for Peace was when the international board made a stand for holiness within the ministry.

That was not a cheap decision. It was costly by world standards but by the values of God there was never a question about the stand that was taken.

The Illumina Encyclopedia says: “Holiness is the chief attribute of God and a quality to be developed in his followers.”

The primary Tanach word for holiness means ‘to cut’ or ‘to separate.’ If you are committed to holiness that means you will seek to cut off or separate from anything that is unclean.

It’s a decision something like New Year’s Resolutions – they are easily made and just as quickly broken.

We are called to grow each day to be more like Yeshua and the supreme attribute of His divine nature is holiness.

Remember the cry of the demon?

Luke 4:34 “Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!”

In the Tanakh God is called ‘Holy’ (Isaiah 57:15), “Holy One” (Job 6:10; Isaiah 43:15) and “Holy One of Israel” (Psalm 89:18; Isaiah 60:14)

Being like God calls on us to focus on His holy character and seek to walk in His way.

There are two ways of looking at how the bible prescribed a suitable response to Holiness.

In the Torah priests were given a complex program of rituals.

Ex. 29:1,2 “And this is what you shall do to them to hallow them for ministering to Me as priests: Take one young bull and two rams without blemish, and unleavened bread, unleavened cakes mixed with oil, and unleavened wafers anointed with oil (you shall make them of wheat flour).”

And the details go on…

The teaching on holiness instructs believers to bridge the gap between standards established in a fallen world and a character trait God maintains by being totally separate from evil.

Is. 57:15 “For thus says the High and Lofty One
Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy:
“I dwell in the high and holy place,
With him who has a contrite and humble spirit,
To revive the spirit of the humble,
And to revive the heart of the contrite ones.”

When you seek to be holy, your goal is to be with Him in that ‘high and holy place.’

The success of that goal is awarded to those who walk with a ‘contrite and humble spirit.’

That means holiness is not an attribute we can reach in our own strength.

Why does the spirit of the humble need revival?

It’s because the god-fearing believer will be down and wounded when they realize their motives or behavior have fallen short of the divine holy nature.

But as we come to the Lord and get things right the promise is clear: “He will revive the heart of the contrite or repentant ones.’

The Christian meaning of holiness calls on each one of us to have ‘the mind of Christ’ in all things.

How you think of God
How you think of yourself
How you think of your family, neighbors, workmates, ethnic groups, Jews, Arabs – whatever

What is the mind of Christ compared to all the opinions we have formed.

The challenge comes because all Christians have been rescued out of the fallen world and many times keep their worldly feelings and opinions although we have been told to ‘die to self.’

Jesus taught His disciples to ‘hallow the Name.’

In Revelation 4: 8 holiness is the attribute highlighted.

Rev. 4:8 “The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying:
“Holy, holy, holy,
Lord God Almighty,
Who was and is and is to come!”

God was holy in the beginning; He is holy today and He will remain holy in the days to come.

What is the most frequent term used to describe Yeshua’s followers in the Epistles. We are called ‘saints.’

Just wear that thought for a moment.

How well do we live up to that title.

I surfed the internet to find out how various groups described ‘saints.’

One group said:Numerous Bible translations refer to the "righteous" or "holy ones" as "saints." By that definition, anyone who is righteous under the law (which is no one, according to Romans) or who is made righteous by accepting the sacrifice of Jesus is a "saint."

Another:
A true Saint is one who has achieved the elevated state of God-Realization.

And:
From an Etymological perspective the word Saint comes from the Latin word Sanctus which meant ''Holy''.

I like this one:
What is a saint? First of all, one who knows he is a sinner. A saint knows all the news, both the bad news of sin and the good news of salvation. A saint is a true scientist, a true philosopher:
A saint knows the truth. A saint is a seer, one who sees what’s there. A saint is a realist.

I like that explanation because it sums up our dependence on the Lord.

Matt. 5:13 -16 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.
“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Holiness must be our goal.

The Lord described His followers as ‘the salt of the earth.”

He warned, however, if the sale lost its flavor it would be trampled underfoot by men.

Many today regard the church as hypocritical because it is quick to tell them how to live and yet fails in being the example.

How we live cannot be hidden.

He planned to display His divine nature through you.

How humbling is that?

So He says, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”

That’s the calling. That’s the call on all who are saints in this world.

That is His charge to you and me.
