| Rick
de Leeuw promotes Bob Dylan
By
Ronald Lamars
On 30 december 2003 Rick de Leeuw, former foreman of Dutch
rock group the Tröckener Kecks, made a case for
Bob Dylan deserving a higher ranking in the Dutch
top 2000.
In the item, shown on Dutch television, Mr De Leeuw stated
that a highest ranking of 83, for Hurricane, was
a shame. 'Bob Dylan should be at least in the top 10',
he said. When asked why, he named Eminem and Bruce Springsteen
as both artists who would not exist without the pioneering
work by Bob Dylan.
Consequently, parts of Just Like a Woman from
the Concert for Bangla Desh film and of the Subterranean
homesick blues video were shown. Also, a part of Mr
de Leeuw's meritable own Dutch translation and clip of
Subterranean Homesick Blues was shown.
Thank you, Mr De Leeuw. |
