Ice racing

The 30th anniversary season of the Annual World Championship ICE Racing Series kicks off next month.

In celebration of the 30th anniversary, they're debuting a new pro division, the Manufacturers World Cup, featuring these high-horsepower four-stroke singles: Honda CRF450R, Kawasaki KX450F, KTM 450SX, Suziki RM-Z450, and the Yamaha YZ450F.

In addition to the bikes, in other divisions they also race unlimited outlaw Quad/ATVs and Speedway Karts (X-Karts), all on flat oval ice tracks.

After the opening races in Portland on December 16th, they'll travel to the Oakland Arena (are you paying attention StickyC and Jimbo?) on December 17th, then the Everett Events Center in Washington (where I'll hopefully catch them) on December 18th.

Each event has about 20 races and lasts about 2-1/2 hours, now that winter is here and MotoGP and AMA and World Superbikes are done, it's the perfect way to get that two wheel race fix.
