EarthWatch supports field research projects led by some of the world's foremost scientists. People who wish to support these projects can do so in several ways: by joining EarthWatch; by sponsoring a teacher, student, or friend in the field; by getting involved through your corporation; by contributing a gift; or by contributing yourself by joining a project in the field and helping to collect essential data.

| About the Lake Naivasha Project...
| From the EarthWatch magazine description:
A spectacular assortment of mammal and bird species calls Lake Naivasha home. But human use and introduced species are changing this beautiful lake. What are the pressures on Naivasha, and what can people do to ensure its health?
Field Conditions: Teams based in the Elsamere Conservation Center will identify and observe birds and aquatic plants, analyze water and root systems, and trace the lake's food chains. In Hell's Gate National Park, teams will monitor the migration patterns of grazing mammals as well as the human impact on the region. Related skills and interests: hydrology, African wildlife, aquatic plants.
Note: I gained the knowledge and skills related to the above topics not prior to the trip, but right at Lake Naivasha, Elsamere, and from the various drives we had in Kenya. What's really required is your genuine interest, a thirst for learning and knowledge, the passion to participate and communicate and socialize, and true love of nature (wildlife & spectacular views) and people.
