Continued growth

As my work continues I have found a need to make the site larger. Being a designer I didn't just want to make the page longer. Instead I have developed the site to use the new tabbed Spry features inside Dreamweaver. This will allow me to have multiple news feeds for archived events. I hope you like the changes. I am also looking to make this site into a flash version in the summer.

By the Skin of his designs!

As of middle August 2008, 45 of my designs will appear on Skinnis protective product skins on their online store, and in stores across the US. In addition to this they have used my designs to flagship their t-shirt brands too. More news to follow.

Stewart's enquiry

Finally, after several months of development I have finally finished and published Author Cynthia Stewart's website. Another design oriented website that hopefully sympathises with the author's style. To view the website follow the link below or go to the gallery and click on the icon for a screenshot.

Monopolising!

My latest commission, on which I am working is a redesign on the classic Monopoly game. I am responsible for the illustrations to be incorporated on all the cards and the board and box. Images will be posted in gallery on completion.

I need a Quack!

The turn of the new year brought a commission from the States and has developed a continued relationship, working on a series of icons for Hunter based organisations. See the designs in the gallery section.

I need more glasses

More good news! Ritzenhoff who commissioned two glass design from me last year. Have asked for three more design categories to be submitted in August. I'm a Star!

Finally, after several months of development my StarFM website design has gone live. I was responsible for the look and feel and also the blog and SMS site design. You can visit by clicking the image below, second icon.

The big bang at Leicester General

Born in 1965, in Leicester, England. Studied art at school. After Foundation Course at Leicester Polytechnic studied for a BA(hons) degree at Newcastle Polytechnic. Gaining a degree in Media Production (animation) in 1989.

On leaving college I began freelance work in Newcastle. Working for companies such as Yorkshire TV, Sirloin Productions and BBC Children's TV. Completing several projects (see history for details).

Moved to Oxford to work in games industry. Doing work on the new Jaguar console, but soon moved back to Leicester to take up a technicians role at DeMontfort University, in the animation department. This turned into a teaching position that extended into CAD design and multimedia. I worked at DeMontfort University for five years.
Later I took an MA degree in Design & Manufacture (Multimedia), gaining a commendation in 1999. Training on Alias Wavefront to Level 2, in computer animation.

Later on in life!

In 2000 left England and moved to Greece, where my daughter, Lythia was born.
Whilst in Greece worked in research institute on interface research and development. Own house in the city of Thessaloniki.

Returned for a short period to England to work in the games industry at Hothouse Creations. Being responsible for graphic development and interface design. After two years returned to Greece, to be with family and am currently working freelance and as a part-time lecturer at AAS college.

What keeps me going

Over 20 years working in the fields of animation, graphics, illustration, multimedia and web design. Working for a great deal of companies. This is in chronological list of comapnies worked for.

Early days!

After leaving college I spent some time doing two commissions for Yorkshire TV. Working on a commercial for Halifax - The Little Xtra Club and a stinger for The James Whale Radio Show. Also whilst living and working in Newcastle I worked for BBC Children's TV on The Adventures of the Fiddley Foodle Bird and I worked as an assistant on a Siriol feature called The Princess and the Goblin.

Whilst working as a freelance animator in Newcastle I was offered a job working for Rebellion Software in Oxford, as a games developer. There I was responsible for developing characters for the game Alien vs Predator.

Later on in life!

After leaving Oxford, I moved back to my home town of Leicester and took a job as technician at the animation department at DeMontfort University. One year later this moved into a teaching position. Teaching degree level students in CAD, DTP, multimedia and Internet, as well as animation.
Also whilst working at DeMontfort University I spent some time working as a graphic designer at Might Communications. There I was responsible for the doing development work in the graphics area.

My work in Leicester also included some freelance commission, mainly through Flame design (formerly GA design). Doing graphic illustration to support the graphic layout achieved there. This included over ten or so commissions for Edme Brewery, Leicester Football Club and Stamford Homes. My involvement at DeMontfort University also covered consultancy work in the multimedia field. Which culminated in doing cd-rom design for RDI, video graphics for DMU and web design for several companies.

Nearly up-to-date!

A big move was made in 1999, when I moved to live and work in Thessaloniki, Greece. I took a position up at a research institute; Informatics and Telematics Institute. Where I was responsible in doing analysis, research and development in interface design. This involved several European funded projects in Internet and multimedia design.

Then in 2002 I was offered a job in Bristol, UK at Hothouse Creations doing interface design in the games industry. This involved work on three titles, and also included development and concept work as well as support graphics and website development. The projects included; Sky Sports Football Quiz,Casino Inc. and Crime Life.

What I'm doing now-a-days!

I again moved back to Greece to work in 2004, and took a position at AAS college doing teaching in Web, Graphics and Illustration. Now also teaching and head of Creative Thinking. At the same time developed work in the freelance area, also in graphics, illustration and web/multimedia development. This has included work for Dimos Thessaloniki, Lina Apartments, and DMN Sportswear.

Currently I am also collaborating with a glass manufacturer to develop designs for a Spring/Summer catalogue.
