Kindermusik Village
Each week you'll dance with your baby in your arms, share songs, and celebrate the marvelous transformations of the first 18 months. Our baby classes create opportunities for bonding and brain development!

Features include:
-Musical play that stimulates your baby's physical and mental development

-Social interaction with other Moms and babies

-Weekly Foundation of Learning tips for Parents

Fall 2009 Units:
Feathers introduces you and your child to a delightful range of songs, movement activities, object play and vocal play relating to our feathered friends. Birds from across the world are features in songs, dances, and poems. A Yiddish folk song, a Muskogean melody, and Mother Goose rhymes set to music are just a few of the colorful and exciting pieces introduced in this unit.(Weeks 1-7)

Do-Si-Do offers a wonderfully unique experience of rhythm an dmovement fo ryou and your child. Movement higlights include a Virginia Reel, a conbination Tango, Cha-Cha! and a "move-to-it" poem. Other activities range from chime ball play to instrument exploration and more. Music selections draw from many traditions, including African American, Mexican, Romantic, Scottish, South African, and Asian. (Weeks 8-15)

At Home Materials for each of the units:
Home CD, Baby's Board Book, Featured Home Instrument for music-making at home, and two Art Banners. (1 set per unit)

Foundation of Learning Tip #7:
Children instinctively understand the language of music. Music draws children into its orbit, inviting them to match its pitches, incorporate its lyrics, move to its beat, and explore its emotional and harmonic dimensions. Children are happy when they are bouncing, dancing, clapping, and singing with someone they trust and love. Even as music delights, it helps mold children's mental, emotional, social, and physical development - and gives them the enthusiasm and skills they need to teach themselves (adapted from Campbell, 2000).
