In this 3 day workshop we
will explore simple, elegant methods to create a solution
mood, and generate new ways for families to be together.
The focus will be on those elements beyond technique that
are common to all therapies that account for effectiveness,
and we will explore how we as therapists can actively
generate these essential ingredients of therapy.
This workshop will be of interest to anyone wanting to work
with children and their families, or to family therapists
looking for a forum to extend their work in a supported
way. It provides an opportunity for hands on learning
around family therapy, and even those working with families
will benefit from this experiential workshop which provides
an opportunity to practice.
This approach creates a context for a family to emerge from
a group of individuals while exploring the moves that make
this possible. These moves are foundational to this work.
Managing the mood, joining, and creating connections to
unite a family group will be recurrently emphasized, and
this in turn will create the possibility to practice with
the family that emerges.
This interactive workshop emphasises demonstration and
practice over lecture presentation so that participants can
expect to be able to use the learning from this learning
experience in their practice immediately, and confidently.
