Liz Philippon wrote: "Jed worked in a woolen mill and part of the time he ran the elevator, which carried supplies from floor to floor. He lived most of his life in Winooski and was widowed three times. Around 1940 he moved to Burlington to live with his son Roy and family.
Jed was a heavy man, with short legs, not much into socializing, and he spoke only French. He like to sit on the front porch and eat raw onions, slicing them into pieces with a jack knife. Around 1945 he went to Lake Home, Indiana to live with his daughter Edna until his death." |
