Professional Experience

1985 - Present Fine Artist. Painter, sculptor and installation artist. Dedicated to the expression of a personal vision through the creation of original works of art. Promotion of and advocacy for the arts through membership in arts organizations, writing, teaching and collaboration with artists of different disciplines.


1990 - 2000 Freelance Designer, San Juan, P.R. Designed graphics for corporate identity, packaging, store and outdoor signage and print advertisements for a variety of clients in Mac and PC platforms. Wrote copy for print and radio ads, press releases. Built web sites and interactive kiosks for convention booths. Photographed locations throughout Puerto Rico and developed the first commercially available collection of screen savers with photographs of Puerto Rican Landscapes. Designed and built sets for television commercials broadcast in the local Puerto Rican market.


1988 - 1990 Art Director, Nexus Cinematographic Productions, Caracas, Venezuela. Directed teams of up to fifteen people in the areas of scenery, props and wardrobe in this television commercial production company. Worked closely with the Director from the earliest stages of project development, creating storyboards and making presentations to advertising agencies and their clients. Designed all scenery, built maquettes and supervised the construction of sets. Oversaw the acquisition of props; devised props when necessary, including sculpture. Scouted locations for filming and created special effects and animations.

2003 - 2004 Co-Lead, Arts & Culture Sector, Latino Alliance, Rochester, NY The Latino Alliance is made up of leaders in different areas of the Latino community in Rochester and works to develop partnerships with organizations in the public and private sectors to further the interests of Latinos in the Rochester area.


2002 - 2004 New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) Artists' Advisory Committee. The Committee is a group of working artists that advises the Board of Directors on matters of policy; its members help the Fellowship Panels in their respective disciplines.


2002 NYFA Painters' Fellowship Panel, New York, NY NYFA panels select the artists who will become Fellows. These artists receive a cash grant in recognition of their artistic achievement, to be used as they see fit.


2002 Community Arts Grants Panel, Arts & Cultural Council, Rochester, NY The panels give grants to non-profit arts organizations to carry out specific proposals.
