Brandywine is one of the best summer hikes along the Whistler corridor.
It is also good for late spring skiing.
Don't go there in mid-winter unless you enjoy snowmobiles.

The trailhead is above Brandy Cr. at 3,100 ft.
Above, that's Mt Fee at 7,000 ft.
Brandywine is 7,314 ft., so at the end of the hike, you look down on Fee.
The walk to Brandywine Meadows is a popular day hike. We are going to the summit which is above that glacier and is hidden by the ridge on the left. The peak visible in the background is on the summit ridge. Our route up was through a gully in the headwall. The route down was along the left ridge and down the snow. Great glissading!
Careful on this snow. It is thin and water is flowing underneath.
We took the route directly up the gully to the glacier.
Last chance for running water. This glacier melt-water tastes great!
It is steep ahead
Those meadows produce an amazing variety of flowers. That's the Black Tusk on the other side of the Whistler Corridor.
It doesn't look so steep, does it?
First we practice the belay step on steep snow.
And then we practice self arrest with an ice ax.
Milton has some speed and I'm in the way.
That's how it is supposed to look!
This is fun, but we have a mountain to climb.
On the glacier. After this the weather was fine for hiking, but not for pictures. The summit is a ramble across the glacier and then about half an hour scrambling up a rocky slope.
