March 2012 - catch up with Len Deighton in London and see a great new photo I took at this lunch.

December 2011 - the Fan Forum has been returned to its original location. Keep posting!

October 2011 - a very rare feature on the spy as romantic hero from a 1977 edition of the fan magazine Armchair Detective. Fred Erisman makes a critical analysis of 'Harry Palmer' and his approach to the world of the Cold War in the 'sixties.

June 2011 - now available to download, a .pdf of the exclusive Deighton Dossier Q&A interview with Len Deighton himself. Don't miss it!

Plus, read a fascinating feature on Michael Caine from Eat Soup in 1996, which features a rare piece by Len examining how he made Harry Palmer a gourmet!

In the images section, there are two examples of the original cover art by Gordon Crabb for the Arrow paperback resissues from the 1980s.

You're on the Internet's most comprehensive resource for information about British author Len Deighton.

Len Deighton’s is a world of secret spies and not-so secret betrayal; heroism in war and the battle of the sexes; big-time crooks and small-time villains; swinging sixties London and the drab uniformity of East Berlin. It's also a world of cuisine and gastronomy, military history and the terror of war.

This is a website about all this and more, found in the work of one of the world’s leading thriller and spy novel writers. A mini-renaissance of Len has followed Harper Collins's decision to re-issue his books with new introductions by the author.

2012 is also the fiftieth anniversary of the publication of Len's first - and arguably most famous - book, The IPCRESS File. A number of articles will be posted up on this site.

This site - along with the accompanying blog - is still the only comprehensive and regularly updated website about Len Deighton on the Internet. It aims to be many things:

  • A source of news about Len Deighton and his works, including an exclusive Q&A with him for this website.
  • A fansite to bring together readers from around the world
  • A homage to the author’s works, both familiar and unfamiliar
  • A guide for the curious and a source of facts
  • A guide for book collectors
  • A source of links to other related web sites.

To start, click on one of the main menus at the top of the page.

Once you've looked through the site, why not join the discussion with other Deighton fans on this website's forum.
