Damn that Potter kid!

Karin and I both finished our single copy of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince within a week of getting the novel. (Okay, eight days—I admit it, I'm a slow reader.) Karin reads much faster than I do, so she got it first, but every time she put it down I grabbed it.

I have to say the novel leaves me filled with great anger. I'm very upset that I'll have to wait a year or two for the last book in the series.

The book does contain some disturbing elements for the characters I've grown to love, but it's filled with humor, much more than the immediate predecessor. The book also creates a couple of serious questions at the end: Is HE really dead? Whose side is Snape really on? Of course, these are the questions Rowling wants us to ask. Damn that Rowling.

Anyway, if you've read the other HP books, you'll love this one as well. If you can't buy it, Karin and I have a week old, heavily used and beaten copy to lend. 8-)
