PoliticsTalking about presidential politics
Salon.com
has an interesting article today on the similarities between the media's
coverage today of Dr. Howard Dean, the possible Democratic front-runner for
president, and the coverage in 2000 of Al Gore. You remember Gore, of course.
He's the man who won the popular vote and had it stolen from him by Bush-family
loyalists on the Supreme Court. And, no, I won't get over
it.
Anyway, back to the article. It's a solidly researched piece about how the Conservative Media (TM) is working with the Republican National Committee and other conservatives to attack Dean's personality, rather than his policies. Sort of the same way these groups tried to destroy Gore, who won the popular vote in 2000, lest you forget. Go read the article. You'll have to sit through a short commercial to enter Salon, but it's worth it. Posted: Tue - January 13, 2004 at 07:47 PM | |
