Fuel subsidies are being phased out with prices set to double in the next few months. This comes on top of a 125% increase last year. A new boat/propulsion solution is urgently needed.

Best boat takes 4 crew, uses a 5hp long-tail motor, ranges up to 10 nm off shore
2 man canoe in appalling condition. The boat is 7 years old and not repairable.
This 5 year old dugout will probably go 2-3 miles out to sea tonight.
Another 2 man canoe still in use despite dangerous condition.
Boats are beached thru surf as there is no protected anchorage.
Better fisher housing. Standing water around house used for washing nets.
Low end fisher housing.
Ablutions. Water is brackish. No septic tank used.
Standing water round housing is unhealthy.
Children get protein but hygiene is very poor
Women have no job opportunities as village is too far from the city.
Homes have no running water, no septic tanks or even toilets, no power, no phone
