would have been lugging along film camera especially manual ones, figuring out
the calculation of the settings of Aperture vs Shutter Speed, White Balance
Filtering, the use of the right balanced film in the right lighting
environment.
...We no longer have to worry about Tungsten Film not working in Daylight or Florescent, filtering the lighting, etc. However, for those who are keen in mastering the controls of the photography skills, we will still find ourselves lugging around charts such as exposure charts, White Balance compensation charts, etc, just in order to maintain a form of reference instead of letting the camera take over everything. I came across a while back that a Japanese company planned to release some CF cards with the reference charts printed on its labels. They have included Pixel Size vs Paper Size Chart (Not very useful), Exposure Chart (extremely useful for exposure calculations) and White Balance Chart (Good for White Balance Settings).... So here goes, I created what I call a "Sunny 16 Chart" or the chart that we normally find inside the film box. You can print either of these charts onto some stickers and customise your CF Cards on either side or both. Saturday - July 30, 2005A Day at BotanicsI finally picked up my camera to do a "proper"
hobbyist style shoot today at the Botanics. After fetching Hilda to work in the
morning, I decided a morning at the Botanics is good, since morning sun is great
for shooting. I circled the Carpark for more than 3 rounds before I found a lot
at around 9am.
I took a slow walk from the visitors centre, hoping to have grabbed breakfast there at Botanics, however, the breakfast there is !@#!@#$!@#$ expensive.... I walked around for nearly 2 hrs in the fast fading sun as the storm picked up. At every other corner, I would have bumped into Photographers, Avid ones, armed with Tripods and all those techie techie terms they were trying to "smoke" each othe.... I just smiled at them, as I walked past, some even came forward to talk to me. Thursday - June 30, 2005Monday - June 27, 2005Hahahaha...what a nerdy photo!!!!I was reading some information on the web today
when I came across someone who blogged under the moniker Taekwon-dodo. It
reminded me of my days in TKD and I decided to do s search to see if I can find
any information on TKD in Singapore and if I can spot any old friends.... Found
a few of them some more....hahaha no could not find any write up about him so I
guess he could have already been out of the competition arena or erm...not doing
so well.
I have also traced this year's National Tournament to 20, 21, 27 and 28 August, I guess I might drop in to visit, see if I spot any old faces still coaching or fighting. Well, afterall, I found out that Poh Tze Chap and Huang Peiqi from ACME is still fighting. ...Anyway, I also found out that Eve Tan is now Admin instructor at Leng Kee (West) TKD Club...amazing isn't it?
