Attack in Spain

Terrorism in Spain, Iraq, and Islamic terrorism

Is the bombing in Spain related to the war in Iraq or Basque Separatist? We don't know yet. The fact that officials from Spain came out immediately and stated that it was the work of ETA leads me to think that the government of Spain either doesn't want the bombing to be the work of Islamic Extremist or they already knew that something was planned. I believe it is the former. The officials simply didn't want to admit that their support of Freedom for Iraq had these kind of consequences. Over the next week or two I believe that evidence will come out pointing to Islamic Extremists.

Islamic Extremists may have more reasons for attacking Spain than just their support of the US. In the Koran there is a section that states that any land that was ever under Islamic law will always be under Islamic law and Jihad was authorized to reclaim it. There is no time limit for this law. Spain was once controlled by the Ottoman Empire. This in itself gives these extremists all the justification they need to kill innocent men, women, and children.

The massive demonstrations against the Spanish government for their governments support of the Iraqi war demonstrates the peaceful desires of the Spanish people. This is a people who want only to live their lives in peace and not harm others.

Assume for a minute that it is Islamic Extremists who did this. What does this say about the movement as a whole. The fact that they will attack a peaceful people in such a cowardly way demonstrate their lack of humanity. They did not attacking the government. They attacked the very people who demonstrated against their governments support of the Iraqi war. So what are they saying? It doesn't matter who you are. We will kill you if we think we can get away with it.

My hope is that this act will turn the anger of the Spanish people against the extremists. My hope is that the rest of Europe will wake up and realize the threat that Islamic fundamentalism poses to modern civilization. My hope is that this may spur a new level of support and coordination in this global war on terrorism.

I call for Europe to wake up. I call for Asia to wake up. These people want nothing less than the entire world to be controlled as Afghan was controlled. If they are not stopped. There will be no peace.
