Thoughts on Iraq
All we are hearing about on the news and reading
about in the papers is the death of our soldiers. If all you pay attention to
is the media it sounds like we are losing. I look at the map and I see our
troops right in the middle of all of the crazies. Or maybe they are
strategically deployed. Right now all of the fanatics are sneaking into Iraq so
they can shoot at the best trained, armed, and armored army in the world. Is
this a bad thing? I am not hearing about lots of enemy bodies. I'm not
hearing about many successes.
I did
hear that we have surrounded Saddam's home town. I did hear that we have built
new schools, I did hear about more people have running water than before the
invasion. I did hear about capturing 2 Generals with a stash of weapons.
I also know this just started. If we
pull out now will we be any safer? Some how I feel safer with the middle east
crazies sneaking into Iraq to attack the people who we pay to protect us than I
do if the middle east crazies were sneaking into the US to attack
us.
