Who is Kindermusik for ?
Kindermusik
is for babies ! Kindermusik
Village® is for children from birth to 18 months. It provides a unique opportunity for
parents to connect with their new child and with other babies in music and
movement using Kindermusik’s Foundations of learning®, a teaching approach
based on scientific research to help bring out your baby’s unique development. Kindermusik is for toddlers !
Kindermusik Our Time® is for
children 18 months to 3 years. Each week you and your child meet others for
45 minutes of singing, moving, listening, playing simple instruments and
simply interacting socially. Exploration Time encourages your child’s
discovery of specially designed instruments, textures, sounds and movements;
language skills are fostered with singing, sound imitation and vocal play.
Music & Movement Story Time encourages your child’s emergent literacy skills;
and creative dancing affirms a child’s urge to move. Kindermusik is for kids at nursery
! Kindermusik
Imagine That® is for children aged 3 to 5
years. Each 45 minute lesson is
designed to tap into the power of the child’s imagination. Imagine That provides an
extraordinary musical atmosphere.
You explore the power of pretend play with exceptional music, movement
activities, singing and literature building blocks. Your child will reflect, compare, sing, act and move while
exploring the exciting world of music.
Parents and caregivers join in for the last fifteen minutes of each
session. Kindermusik is for kids at school !
Kindermusik
for the Young Child® is a music curriculum designed for children 5 to 7. The programme consists of weekly
60-minute lessons, each designed for eight to twelve children who attend
unaccompanied by an adult.
Parents, caregivers and siblings are invited to join the class for a
‘sharing time’ for the last ten or fifteen minutes of each lesson. Kindermusik for the Young Child® helps to build essential
school and music readiness skills through singing, movement and dance,
playing simple instruments (glockenspiel, dulcimer and recorder) separately
and together, and learning rudiments of reading and writing musical notation. It is an excellent opportunity for
children and parents to explore instruments before making choices about
formal lessons, while becoming comfortable with a variety of small motor
challenges. And, of course, they
get to keep the instruments ! |

Leonie Hain Licensed
Kindermusik Educator |
About me
Leonie Hain ALCM,
LLCM(TD), GLCM Licensed Kindermusik Educator I
have lived in the Vale of Glamorgan since we moved here from Canada in
1998. I
studied violin and piano at the London College of Music, then went to work
for Music for Youth in London. Some time later I moved abroad with my
paediatrician husband to Ottawa in Canada, where I attended Kindermusik
classes with our daughter. I
thought it was a fantastic programme and decided there and then to run
classes myself when my own children were all at school. Since my return to
Wales in 1998 I have been teaching music privately. Now, all my own three
children are at school and I have been running the Kindermusik programme here
in the Cowbridge and Vale area since 2004. |
