It all began in 1983 when Jenny and husband Teifi began selling surplus vegetables from their farm in Ceredigion.
Located on the busy A487 between Cardigan and Aberaeron, it proved a popular draw for both locals and tourists alike.
Today, the shop is a showcase for the best local and Welsh produce. There’s everything from home-grown potatoes and salads to home-baked cakes and desserts, including an incredible 80 varieties of Welsh cheese. Between September and March, there are 12 different varieties of British apples stocked. All the meat, including bacon, sausages and pies, are from Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion and a range of traditional ready meals like lasagne, chilli con carne and cottage pie are all hand-made by Jenny and her staff. Of the 1,000 products in store, 80 per cent are from Wales. Seasonality is the biggest influence on what is stocked, ensuring that there is always something different - and delicious - at Llwynhelyg every day.
