The Whiting City Council met in special session March 13,2006,5:00 P.
M.,
in the council chambers with Mayor Marr presiding.
Special session called for a public hearing on 2006-07 budget.
Council present: Jones, Haack, Mattingly, Lyons.
Absent: Bock.
Public hearing on budget opened at 5:00 P.M.
There were no written or oral objections.
Public hearing closed at 5:03 P.M.
Motion by Haack second by Jones to approve budget as proposed.
Motion carried.
Heather Bryan and Andrea Kirkpatrick of the Whiting Youth Association
voiced concerns on the summer youth program on where ball games were
to be held. The Council requested that they get more information on out
of
town games and the possibility of using the school diamond when
possible.
They are to meet with Council when information complete.
Motion by Haack second by Lyons to send letter to the Rodeo Association
that no activities are to be held at the Rodeo grounds until insurance
policy
is in place. Copy of policy information to be sent to the City.
Motion carried.
L.A. Carlson Contractors were present for a pre-construction meeting on
the
dirt work for the sports complex. Work to start as soon as possible,
weather
permitting.
