The Whiting City Council met in regular session March 6,2006,7:00 P.M. In the Council chambers with Mayor Marr presiding.

Council present: Bock, Lyons, Haack, Jones, Mattingly.

Minutes of previous meeting approved as mailed.

Mike Carpenter, Hoffman Agency, presented insurance renewal bid of $20,811.00 for the up coming year.

Motion by Haack second by Mattingly to lower coverage on 1982 G.M.C. Fire truck to $50,000 and raise the coverage on 2005 International to $200,000. Carried

Motion by Mattingly second by Lyons to accept Insurance proposal as amended. Carried.

Mike Carpenter to check on insurance for rodeo association.

Resolution 2006-1. Resolution Approving Contracts And Bonds For The City Of Whiting Sports Complex Construction Project And Work Incidental Thereto.

Motion by Lyons second by Bock to approve Resolution 2006-1. Roll call vote, all in favor.

Dana Kirby was present to discuss progress on housing development project. Discussion was tabled until a later date.

Motion by Mattingly second by Lyons to accept Brian Kron bid to install water meters in 2 residences that do not have them.

Motion by Haack second by Lyons to send Karen Handeland to Municipal Clerks Institute in July. Carried.

Motion by Lyons second by Mattingly to accept Layne Western bid to check and clean pump at water plant and repair as needed. Carried

Motion by Mattingly second by Jones to allow bills. Carried
