CITY OF WHITING
COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS
MAY 29, 2007
The Whiting City Council met in special session on Tuesday, May 29,
2007, 7:00 PM in the council chambers with Mayor Tom Marr presiding.
Council Present: Corkery, Haack, Jones, Seward
Absent: Lyons
Minutes of previous meeting approved as mailed.
Public hearing on 2006-2007 budget amendment opened at 7:02 PM. There
was no written or oral objections received. Motion by Haack and
seconded by Jones to accept the budget amendment. Roll call vote, all
in favor.
Scott Tentinger and Dale Cooper represented the Whiting School and
voiced their need for assistance in moving city bleachers and picnic
tables as needed.
Skip is to talk to Onawa on spraying for mosquitos.
Ballfield parking was discussed. Skip and Jeff will evaluate the city
sign situation and possible replacement.
Motion by Haack and seconded by Seward to have Layne-Western to do the
rehabilitation of two of our water supply pumps. Motion carried.
Discussion on offering Dean Hightree the part time job of mowing the
cemetery.
Mayor Marr adjourned meeting at 8:45 PM.
