CITY OF WHITING
COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS
JUNE 30, 2008
The Whiting City council met in special session on Monday, June 30, 2008, in the council chambers. Mayor Tom Marr called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. Sarrazin, Kepner, Haack, Pope and Bird were present.
No sealed bids for the Whiting Addition Phase II were presented at this time.
Motion by Sarrazin and seconded by Pope to donate $625.00 to the Fireworks. Bird, Sarrazin, Pope,were aye and Haack and Kepner, nay. Motion carried.
Motion by Haack and seconded by Sarrazin to pass 1st, 2nd and 3rd readings of Ordinance 2008-02, AN ORDINANCE TEMPORARILY CLOSING CERTAIN STREETS IN THE CITY OF WHITING ON JULY 3 AND JULY 4, 2008. Roll call vote, all in favor.
Motion by Haack and seconded by Sarrazin to pass 1st, 2nd and 3rd reading of Ordinance 2008-3, AN ORDINANCE AMENDING #6-5-11 OF THE WHITING MUNICIPAL CODE AND SETTING FEES FOR GARBAGE COLLECTION SERVICES. Roll call vote, all in favor.
Motion by Haack and seconded by Pope to approve Resolution 2008-5, RESOLUTION PROPOSING A LOAN AGREEMENT AND THE ISSUANCE OF $40,000.00 GENERAL OBLIGATION CAPITAL NOTE SERIES 2008 AND SETTING A DATE FOR THE MEETING OF THE WHITING CITY COUNCIL AT WHICH IT IS PROPOSED TO TAKE ACTION FOR THE ISSUANCE OF THE LOAN AGREEMENT AND SUCH GENERAL OBLIGATION CAPITAL NOTE FOR THE PURCHASE OF A GRADER. Roll call vote, all in favor.
Discussion was held on the Whiting Rodeo. Clerk will obtain proof of insurance and notify them of the parking for the rodeo.
Skip reported that he still has not received a bid from Jarco on the building repair.
Skip was to purchase some more gravel to maintain gravel roads.
With no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 5:37 PM.
