March 5, 2007

The Whiting City Council met in regular session on Monday, March 5, 2007, 7:10 pm in the council chambers with Mayor Tom Marr presiding.
Council Present: Seward, Jones, Bock
Absent: Lyons, Haack
Minutes of previous meeting approved as mailed.
Mike Carpenter from Hoffman Agency presented insurance renewal bid of $20,971.23 for the upcoming year. This would be from April 1, 2007-2008. Motion by Jones and seconded by Bock to accept the insurance proposal. Motion carried.
Cheryl Koenig and Meg Polly were here for the Library. They asked that Joan Roberts wage for July 1, 2007 to be raised from $7.00 to $7.25. Motion by Jones and seconded by Bock to raise Joan's hourly wage to $7.25. Motion carried.
Motion by Seward and seconded by Jones to accept the 2007-08 budget. Motion carried.
Motion by Bock and seconded by Seward to purchase one more additional load of aglime for the Sports Complex. Motion carried.
Council was to look into fixing the city's grader to do maintenance on the gravel roads.
Council discussed drainage problem due to the ice buildup with the recent snow storms. Skip was commended for snow removal for the city during the recent snow storms.
Policies were tabled until next month.
Mike Brenden was here to report on the annual rodeo. The council asked for proof of insurance from the Rodeo Association for this year.
Motion by Jones and seconded by Seward to allow bills. Motion carried.
Mayor Marr adjourned meeting at 8:45 pm.
