January 16, 2007

The Whiting City Council meet I Special session January 16, 2007, in the council chambers with Mayor Tom Marr presiding.

Council Present: Bock, Jones, Lyons, Seward, Haack Absent: None

Minutes of previous meeting reviewed. Discussion as to motion by Haack regarding sick leave. Moved by Haack and seconded by Jones to amend minutes to show that motion by Haack regarding sick leave was tabled, not Carried.

Council directed Clerk to attach to minutes of January 8, 2007, those sections of the City Policy Handbook that were adopted at January 8, 2007, meeting. Minutes approved as amended.

Discussion as to unused vacation time. Motion by Lyons and second by Jones to prohibit buy back of unused vacation time without specific approval by City Council in advance of buy back. Motion carried.

Mayor advised Council that dog catcher had resigned.

Next council meeting will be February 6, 2007.
