Antarctica - Part 8

The Rotterdam cruises into through Andvoort Bay and into Errera Channel heading towad Curverville Island, then back out into Gerlache straight and then back toward the Drake Passage

Andvoort Bay is filled with bergs of various sizes, from tiny to huge.

Some of the bergs have been eroded into truly interesting shapes.

More Gentoo penguins ...
... with loads of penguin poo (which we could both see and smell!)
The layers of ice and snow were thick on the mountain tops
Moving through the Errera Channel, the Rotterdam moves toward Curverville Island

A lone Seal sunbathes on an ice berg!

We disturbed the fellow!

Curverville Island, with a Gentoo Colony on its shore.

In the bay before Curverville Island is an expedition ship.

The expedition ship is the "Polar Pioneer."

I call it the Cathedral.

Antarctica is a glorious place to visit.
