Antarctica - Part 2
 
The passage through Iceberg Ally was foggy, and we were not able to enter Hope bay off the mainland, so we sail straight to King George Island and Admiralty Bay.

Here the waters and the winds are calm.
Most of the shore is covered with ice and snow, but some parts of clear.

Admiralty Bay is actually part of a collapsed volcano.
The ancient, cold caldera, still shows signs of its nature. The cone can be see
with rock formations in the middle being the now dead plug, closing off the vent
 
 
The first signs of the several scientific bases. Looks like a weather station.
This is the Brazilian base.
 
It's a big operation. I bet they think its REALLY cold!
