Mazatlan

Our second port of call was Mazatlan. This was another excellent port.

Old Mazatlan from a hill-top observation point.
The ms Oosterdam from that same observation point
The famous Mazatlan Lighthouse.
The Cathedral of the Emmaculate Conception

This is a lovely Roman Catholic Cathedral.
The High Altar of the Cathedral Church.
The Apse fresco above the High Altar.
The high pulpit of the Cathedral Church in Mazatlan.
More views of the Cathedral church exterior.

This site is where Mazatlan's answer to the Alcapulco Cliff Divers can be seen.
It's not nearly as amazing as Alcapulco's cliff divers ...
... but I could do it.
He made it without hitting his head!
The excursion I was on during this port of call proceeded to a cultural show ...
... where we enjoyed watching a group of dancers treat us to some traditional ..
... Mexican dances.
We then marveled at the Papantla Fliers.
They were colorful....
... fearless ...
... comfortable with heights ...
... and lovers of hanging by their feet ...
... and spinning around and around.
After the tour I returned to the Oosterdam, where I took many photos ...
... of both old and ....
... new Mazatlan.
Again, the famous lighthouse of Mazatlan.
The Mazatlan Ship Terminal, which one reaches via trams across the port.
Another view of Mazatlan just before departure.
The Oosterdam sets sail from Mazatlan harbor.
Another view of the Mazatlan light house ... the highest altitude ...
... light house in the New World.
