Embarkation on the Oosterdam

The Oosterdam departed from San Diego for a 7 day cruise to the Mexican Riviera.

The Oosterdam docked at the San Diego Pier across the lot from the terminal.
Dr. Neal was driven from LA to San Diego by his friend, "Themacmonk."
There, he met two friends from CruiseCritics - Mrs. and Mr. LAFFNVEGAS.
Check-In took place in the "Big Top" tent. We wound through lines to check in.
We then boarded. It took about 45 minutes from arrival to boarding.
After board, 30 minutes before scheduled departure, the ship held ...
... the traditional "life boat drill." Women and Children First!
The view from the Oosterdam was lovely while we awaited departure.
From the forward observation deck one could see Anthony's Fish Grotto.
And the Maritime Museum.
From ashore LAFFNVEGAS spied and photographed Rev. Neal taking photos!
Thanks to LAFFNVEGAS for these excellent photos!

The Sail away party on the aft deck.
It was a wonderful party, but the ship was late departing due to a "mishap."
