The Rooms, Lounges, and Decks of the Oosterdam

Inside the Oosterdam one discovers a lovely ship, rooted in the rich nautical traditions of the Holland America Line.

The Atrium is in located amidships, extending from Main deck up through ...
... the public decks ... the Lower Promenade and Promenade decks.
On main deck, at the bottom, can be found one of the ship's many lounges.
My cabin aboard was 1037, a J-category inside amidships. Wow, it was lovely ...
... and LARGE.
The bed was WONDERFUL.
This cabin has plenty of room for 2 or 3 ... for a single person it was HUGE.
The private bath was, pretty much, standard HAL.

The Crowsnest is located on Deck 10 forward.
During the day it provides excellent views of the seascapes surrounding the ship
The bar is located toward the back of the lounge.
The lounge provides seating both for observation and for conversation.
It even has a nicely appointed smoking area.

The Oakroom is located on the starboard side and just aft of the Crows Nest.
The Explorer's Lounge is located on the Lower Promenade deck, starboard side ...
... just aft of the Atrium. It is divided into two chambers.
With plenty of seating for listening to classical music or conversation.
As a tradition of the Holland America line, the Explorer's Lounge is lovely.
On the Vista ships the Explorer's Lounge even has a smoking room!
The "Northern Lights" is the Oosterdam's Dance club. It "hops" at night.
The Ocean's Bar can be found on the Promenade Deck amidships ...
... on either side of the Atrium. Oh the starboard side one will find ...
... smaller spaces perfect for conversation.
On the port side one will find more open spaces ...
... and the band stand and dance floor, perfect for a grand "night life."
The Pianobar on the Oosterdam has a futuristic flair to it.
The Queens Lounge is the Oosterdam's smaller show lounge.
The Catholic and Protestant worship services normally take place here ...
... along with other entertainment activities.
The Sports Bar is, of course, a bar with TVs for watching sports.
It is divided into two chambers, one with the bar, the other with a big TV.
The Casino ... contributions for the Holland America Line can be made here.
The Vista Show Lounged is located forward on the Main, Lower Promenade ...
and Promenade Decks. Yes, 3 decks. It's big and airy ...
With many nice places to view the stage.
The Windstar cafe ... a place to purchase special coffees and other treats.
