New York City

Before the Noordam's Maiden Cruise I stayed in New York City for a couple of days and did some sight seeing. We also had a Cruise-Critic Party the night before departure.

Time Square Where's the Ball?? Oh ... yes ... it's only there on New Years! It's like a man-made Canyon. And at night the lights are so BRIGHT. Radio City Music Hall St. Patricks Cathedral. The Lion in front of the New York Public Library ... ... and, the Library. Tall residential towers ... I'd hate to have to climb all those stairs! The Empire State Building keeps getting taller the closer one gets to it. Where's King Kong? The views from the top of the Empire State Building ... ... are fantastic. Should have brought my better camera with the SLR zoom. You can see the Noordam in the distance, here ... half-hidden behind buildings. Looking North You can see Central Park. Self-picture ... yes ... I should have used the flash. The empire State Building is almost like a Sun Dial. As the day progresses the shadow moves, showing the time. From the top of Rockefeller Center we had a great view. Including a better view of Central Park You can even see my Hotel, the Royal Rihga, from here. the Empire State Building is an impressive site from "The Top of the Rock." There's a nice sitting lounge near the top of the Rock ... nice place to rest.
