The Western Wall

The Western Wall is the Temple Mount retaining wall that dates from the time of the Jewish Second Temple (515 BCE - 70 AD). It is the only part that remains from the Second Temple.

On Tuesday the Wall site wasn't as congested as on the Sabbath Day.
We were also allowed to photograph the site from in front of the wall.

The site is divided in to Men's and Women's sides.

As I approached the wall, Weldon hung back and photographed me ...
... as I prayed for my people and for the Peace of Jerusalem.
While praying there, an Orthodox Jew came up and started praying with me ...
... and asking who I was and why I was there and ended up trying to convert me.
When he found out I was Christian clergy he got angry and I left him.
I was then accosted by beggers.
Beware of these men, and others like them. They followed me and tried to get ...
... me to give them money. This man, in particular, was very rude.
I walked away. Thankfully, Weldon was photographing.
