Christmas Eve Service, 2004
First United Methodist Church of Seagoville, Texas, celebrated Christmas with a Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion Service.

The Sanctuary Chancel, dressed for Christmas, including our "Christmon Tree."
The "Christmon Tree" is not, itself, a Christian symbol for the birth of Christ.
However, every ornament on it symbolizes Christ: crosses, fish, doves, etc.
Also, every ornament is white or gold, symbolizing the holiness Christ.
Lighting of the Advent Candles on Christmas Eve: The Wilkins Family.
The Altar, prepared for the Holy Eucharist.
The Congregation, standing to sing Christmas Hymns
We had a very nice attendance.
Jim Wilkins, Associate Pastor, leads the Liturgy.
Dr. Gregory Neal, Senior Pastor, Preaches the Gospel from Luke 2, reflecting ...
...upon the Scripture and the song popular Christian song: "Mary, Did You Know?"
Following the sermon, the Prayers of the People, and the Offertory, Dr. Neal ...
... stands behind the Altar, hands up lifted, to celebrate The Eucharist ...
... consecrating the Bread and the Cup, praying "Make them be for us ...
... the Body and Blood of Christ, that we may be for the world ...
... the Body of Christ, redeemed by His Blood."
"The Body of Christ, Broken for you." "The Blood of Christ, shed for you."
Following Holy Communion, the congregation takes their candles and ...
... lighting them, they raise them high as they sing "Silent Night."
After singing Silent night a few times through, they then ...
... process out of the Sanctuary and across the courtyard to view ...
The Living Nativity, which was being portrayed ...
... by a few of our youth.
Merry Christmas!
