Hello from Aalborg! | |

We arrived in Aalborg Aug 2 2004 at 4PM local time. It was hot and humid. Aalborg lies on the Lim Fjord and is humid like Bombay. A bridge from the airport crosses over to the downtown area, where we live. Janeen and Tom from Aalborg University (AAU) met us at the airport and took us to our apartment. Janeen's the International Coordinator who was instrumental in bringing me here and Tom's a doctoral student at AAU who visited Iowa State last semester. We live in the heart of the city - just walking distance from the bus terminal and the train station. Haema's school is pretty close - about 1.5km away. She walks to school daily. Pretty soon, once the weather gets cold, she'll be taking the bus. Oh yes, we've got ourselves a monthly bus pass. We can use the bus all over the city any number of times. The buses run on time and are quite frequent.
