'Maiko'

'Maiko' is the Kyoto women's original traditional occupation who treats visitors to a song, or a dance and the art of conversation.
They are young women around 20 years old, it will become a 'Geiko' if skill improves through time.
'Maiko' live also in the town in present Kyoto.
The beautiful figure, makeup, clothes, and accessories are loved very much by people in Japan.

'Kamisitiken'
The motifs of my work are 'Maiko' who live in a very old town 'Kamisitiken'. It is meaningful in "seven stores."
'Kamisitiken' is an amusement street of 'Nishijin' which prospered by the textile for many years.(I live now 'Nishijin'.)
'Maiko of kamisitiken' have the oldest tradition in Kyoto.
By the reason of 'Maiko' of the town of textile, the beauty of clothes and accessories has a very good reputation.
Clothes and accessories are changed for every season or event.
The beautiful traditional motif filled to a sense of the season is used for the color, the pattern, and the design. Please observe.

'Maiko' series
'Maiko' are also alive in the same time as us,but living into tradition and social status. I think that I want to draw the figure of the lively present age woman who does not want to draw them like a doll.

I think that Naked women's surface is not dressed up like a 'Maiko',but very beautiful and full of a vitality.

I collect the antique dolls. Dolls seem to be living completely. 'Ichimatsu-san' were drawn on the motif.
