Aural Illusion

If there is such a thing as an optical illusion why can't there be a similar thing but with audio, not vision?

I just listened to a song on a CD which includes a live version of that song. As often happens, the instruments are tuned differently when it's live and the band are playing it faster than the studio version (which they recorded when they didn't know the tune so well). The effect of flipping between the studio version and the faster but slightly flat live version is interesting - it sounds like the song is going slower because it's slightly lower in tuning, but because the music is moving faster it "feels" weird.

It "sounds" like it's somehow sloping away as you listen to it.

The song is "Come On Eileen" on the "Too Rye Ay" - and the extra is a bonus track.
