Anniversary Weekend
Sarah and I celebrated our second anniversary on
the 24th. We spent the weekend in St. Petersburg (Florida, not Russia) because
it let us get away for the weekend and we had some wedding planning to do. We
checked out the hotel where we want to
have the reception. It's located on a barrier island, so it has a nice view in
all directions. We plan to hold the reception in their Presidential Ballroom.
It's on the penthouse level (right below the top floor, where there's a rotating
restaurant) and has a gorgeous view of the beach. I wish I had taken pictures
or that there were better ones on the Website; the view from this room felt like
falling in love with Sarah again.
We stayed at a small bed and breakfast downtown. The place was very cute and recently renovated. The beds were too firm for us (we sleep on a Kings Down mattress at home), but we toughed it out. The staff was genuinely friendly (and not that fake service-industry friendly) and even baked us cookies because it was our anniversary. It was definitely a good choice.
We also visited Sarah's parents since we don't have many opportunities to see them. We visited with them and their pets and watched the Bucs game on Sunday. We headed home Sunday evening and got home just in time to get some sleep before starting our week.
