Biography of a G-Man

Video Game Comics

In second or third grade I started designing video games with pencil and paper, drawing levels for existing and fictional platformers. It began with complicated motes in front of fortified houses that turned into full-page levels that eventually became shorter and more like comics.

I think my sense of style harks from those early days. Simple lines that provide just enough information to show what the level shoud look like and nothing more. Although I have learned better control with experience, I still prefer to keep things simple in all aspects of design. Once the desired information has been effectively conveyed, no more work is needed (although drawing in lots of details can be fun).
