
Short stories give us a sense of
time-line movement, missing in Flash Fiction. But they are not
miniature novels, either.
Characters don't learn much in short stories. Instead, we learn
about them. The endings make perfect sense in the context of the
story — even when we are jolted awake by a big surprise
