Propane Fueled Firestick

A few years back my cousin built me a propane fueled firestick that I used to start wood in a barrel style BBQ pit. You could use it to light even wet wood. When I got my Egg I found it would light lump in minutes. I have taken some pictures of it unassembled so that you can see how it was made. All you need is a gas valve, some gas connectors, copper pipe, a burner tip and a little imagination. I am sure there are many variations that could be used to make something similar.

Firestick in action

Five minutes or less and lump is ignited

Fire Stick

Gas on/off valve between two pieces of copper pipe. One leads to tip/pipe and the other connects to gas line.

The tip connects to a pipe

The tip assembly is attached to copper line.

Stainless steel tube with holes drilled for air mixture slides over the burner assembly. Screw on end of tube locks it down to assembly in front of on/off valve.
