Marseillaises No. 3

by Paul Scott

Screen-print, in-glaze decal collage on Royal Worcester bone china plate. Edition of five. ?250

The Marseillaises plates were made originally for Paul Scott's show in Whitehaven in 2001. They are based on the Marseillaise pattern produced by the local Whitehaven potteries at the turn of the 20th century. In the original, the plates depicted idyllic romantic scenes of the Mediterranean. He substituted different views of the Detergent factory on the town's cliffs.
