Lunch - Lunch is arranged through the Workshop :
Lunch TimeIf you are getting meals at PMC:
Everyone who is getting their meals at Poland Mining Camps will fill out a form, selecting your choice of sandwich for each day. The form will be available at Registration. Your bag lunch will be prepared for you and then brought to the Field Trip Location by our Guide. You do not need to bring a lunch box/cooler! Cold sodas are supplied with lunch, along with fruit, chips and snacks.

If you are not getting meals at PMC:
If you are bringing your own lunch and drink, you may add your meal to the lunch coolers the Guide will be carrying. If you want, you may purchase the lunches for $7.00 per day or $42.00 for 7 days. You may purchase lunch at any time, during registration or even during the week of the Workshop. Just inform Ray Sprague and make payment arrangements. Fill out a form upon your arrival for your choice of sandwich for the lunch(es) you purchase.

Computer Access on Campus
We have installed a phone line in the "After Hours Room" for those wishing to connect your laptop computer to the internet. This is for people who have to check their email or home files. You will be asked to keep your connection time to the barest minimum, as the line is used for other reasons during the day and evening. You must supply your own local connection telephone number, with no long distance charges.

If you wish to work later in the evening, longer access times can be arranged. If you wish longer connection times during the day, we have made sure that the local library, Ricker Memorial Library in Poland, Maine has internet access. The library is one mile from Poland Mining Camps. www.rickerlibrary.org/index.php

Washing Machines on Campus
Coin-operated Laundry Machine, soap included: $1.00 per wash, $1.00 per dry. There are quarters at the machines, so don't worry about getting change elsewhere.
Please don't try to wash everything at once. It may be cheaper, but not effective!

Near the "After Hours Room", you can purchase cold sodas by the honor system, 24-7. There are also local convenience stores within walking distance if you need something. You will be going near larger stores on the Field Trips (Wal-Mart, Grocery, Hardware, etc.) and it will be easy to stop on your way back to PMC.
Minerals on Campus
Mineral specimens of all kinds are everywhere on Campus. Please do not collect or move any minerals on the campus of PMC! You may look at them, but please replace them where you find them!
Mineral Washing Station on Campus
Mineral wrapping supplies and a mineral washing station are also available on campus. You may collect anything left behind on the mineral washing station or the ground underneath it. There is a hose available to wash you specimens at this station. Please do not wash your specimens inside any of the Cabins.
