| Daily Field Trips Field Class and Quarry Location List The following is a list of potential pegmatite quarries where the Field Study Classes might be held (dependant upon availability and faculty choice). On these Field Trips, the Faculty will hold a class, using the actual pegmatite and its mineralization as a visual aide. Additionally, Frank Perham and the current quarry miners will detail their knowledge and experiences with the location. You will be allowed to collect your own mineral specimens from the selected localities at the end of the day. Most of these locations are closed to the general public and the Workshop has recieved special permission to bring the class to these sites. For security reason, selected locations will be kept secret until the day of your visit. Collecting time per day varies, dependant upon our travel times and topics covered on site. Usually there is at least three hours to collect at each location. On the last Saturday of the Workshop, you will collect between 6-7 hours.
