Bennett Quarry Mineral List
Buckfield, Oxford County, Maine
(Closed to the General Public!)

First opened and mined for feldspar by the land owner circa 1920, the quarry quickly produced other mineralizations worthy of note. Local mineral collectors and scientists of the time found large pockets and many early finds and information were recorded. Gem tourmaline was discovered at this location very early in the work of 1920. The Bennett is best known for the large Morganite Beryl crystal(s) discovered in 1989.
