The Pony Boy - You will note that standing with the GaNome Society Founders in the group photo, is a being who is not a GaNome. He is a Pony Boy. Similar to a Cowboy, Pony Boy even dresses and looks like a cowboy, but there the similarity ends. Pony Boy works with GaNomes deep underground, usually acting as the head of the GaNome Transportation Division, supplying 3-legged ponies to transport the GaNomes and the treasures they find.Pony Boy is also known as Ponyman, Ponypoke, Ponypuncher. All Pony Boy's are anemic in appearance, usually as tall and lanky as a GaNome, often considered lazy, dubious, shady, shifty, slippery, treacherous and unreliable. Most often, they only work for GaNomes who can tolerate their shiftless ways. Note they also like to wear jewelry on their hats! |
The GaNome Greeting - Owl Boy and Miner Boy are seen here using the secret GaNome Society greeting, a mixture of close-talking and GaNome brim-of-the-hat touching. This secret greeting stems from the close quarters the GaNomes encounter whilst mining underground. Usually there isn't enough room to talk at a normal distance.Revealing another secret to this greeting method, you will note that the higher ranking GaNome (Owl Boy here on the left), has the brim of his hat touching the bridge of the nose of the lower ranking member (Miner Boy). This is a sign of rank and respect amongst GaNomes, and here, a sign of some fear on the part Miner Boy. It appears that size and age does not matter in GaNome's polite society. |
